For me the big problem that Newcastle face is that they have a number of phases to go through.

You don't go from relegation candidates to top 4 contenders in a season or 2, they will need to sign a calibre of player to get them from where they are to a top 8 side first of all. The problem being these players are then unlikely to be of the quality to get them into the top 4 and they will need further heavy investment.

But squad sizes are limited and most players who join them will be wanting a 5 year contract, if things go to plan they are going to be surplus to requirements in 2-3 years and they then need to find buyers for them.

Every club feeling anxious about FFP, should move to Scotand. Rangers havent complied for ten years, of operating with a loss funded by soft loans and nothing happens to them. You might need to change your name to Rangers though. If you go into a meeting with the SFA, just belt out the Sash and you will be fine.

But you dont need to break FFP to win the Scottish League. Our EDS team would win your league magic ;-)

I don’t even see them competing, ever. FFP was designed to stop this. Newcastle are 10 years too late

It's intriguing but something seems to have given the PL a kick up the pants.

I think it was staring at the cash cow brand about to disappear up its own arse with the Super League shitshow

The only thing that concerns me regarding the Newcastle takeover is a repeat of what happened 28 years ago

Newcastle with a bit of investment and under Kevin Keegan became quite good and when I went on holiday all I saw was very overweight Geordie families, Mum, Dad two kids, all very fat, all wearing Newcastle shirts
It was fucking horrendous
