can you imagine eddie howe bossing around superstar players ? 1st question would be who are you again. 2nd question what have you won as player/manager. then fuck off am not doing that shit training

i think its short term job for eddie howe in trying to keep them up. but if they go down he would be the best manager to take them back up

Contracted to 2024, there's no chance he'll see that out, he'll be lucky no matter if they do down and he wins promotion or if they somehow stay up to see the end of 22/23.

Yeah and Bellamy and Bridge too. But that was also after a summer where we'd bought Kompany, Zabaleta (not high profile at the time, to be fair), Wright-Phillips and Robinho.

manchester city was a settled premier league club of 5 years by the time our owners took over
this was a big thing in how quick the turn around happened and the platform to build the foundations

newcastle are based on sand at the moment and a big investment right away could mean trouble
i think eddie howe is short term and the right thing. but if they sign the superstars in January and one bad result then it can be like a freight train out of control and you will get relegated

I quite like Howe and was impressed he managed to keep Bournemouth up as long as he did.

I don't think he's likely to be able to take Newcastle to where they ultimately want to go, but for their short and medium term aims (stay in the PL, become reliably mid-table, build a solid platform to grow from) he's probably a decent choice.

I hope he has the freedom to choose who he brings into the club, especially in January. I don't think they need superstars right now, they need hard work and experience of grinding out results to move away from the relegation zone.

Eddie Howe is an everton fan and one of his first signings in January I reckon will be Nathan Ake.
Ake will be right up their street. He will want to go for the minutes he cant get right now. I suspect we only got him to cover in the event of Stones going but right now we have three top CBs plus some youngsters. No harm in letting Ake go.

I think we signed him because we weren’t sure that Laporte would fully recover from his knee injury and we wanted left sided cover. But yeah he would seem to be the most expendable if we wanted to move one on. And we should get close to our money back from Newcastle
