Could see Kane end up in newcastle imo. They will pay the fee levy wants, he is the perfect poster boy for their project, can wear the Newcastle 9 shirt whilst breaking shearers pl record and Kane will have a chance of winning silverware. Seems a good fit to me

Like PB mentioned, FFP cant touch them unless they are playing in european competition

The question is do they make the jump ASAP and go and buy quality or do they go and build the infrastructure whilst buying a solid base to make a more slow jump

Hope they at least rock the boat with that Salah link and upset the dippers as much as possible
Except don't the Premier league have ffp rules as well?

It took us 3 years to win the FA Cup. Kane needs to win NOW, not in 3-5 years time.

and that was when Arsenal were in debt and Liverpool close to going bust.

Interesting that The Saudi's are jumping into bed (so to speak) with the Reuben family, who are a wealthy Baghdadi Jewish family. It's the last thing I'd expect from the Saudi government PIF.

They seem to have an interesting background.

Surely they can’t just splash the cash with FFP, they need to have the income to justify the cost, that won’t happen overnight, that’s why City did what they did at the start with Robinho etc Newcastle can’t do that.
Fazakerley.
Obviously the Saudis will pump in a hell of a lot more money than Ashley and like our owners they won't take any money out, but they will be constrained by FFP (which we weren't initially) and as a previous punter mentioned if FFP is changed to restrict players wages this would be a further restriction on them in their build up phase.

its a dark day for both united and liverpool and their safety net of top 6 european football
i did wonder why uefa brought in the new Europa Conference League ? now i know
It will happen in stages (like it did with us). First they need to avoid relegation; then get to the top of the none top 6; after that it gets harder: getting the better of Arsenal, Spurs, Everton before challenging the rags and the dippers. It will take years and that’s if they are successful.

He said himself he feels he has 7/8 years left in that interview with Neville. Id also target players like zaha, dunk, Leno, lingard, rice, lacazette. Could have a pretty good side fairly quickly.

They will point to our success to persuade any targets as we have given them a blueprint in which they will try follow.

my dads side are all Geordie’s so I’m very pleased for them tonight. I hope they enjoy it as much as we have

This will increase the Super League motivation though for the cartel clubs.

Newcastle wouldn't get in as they dont have the brand presence, that takes about decade of success to build.

yep

manchester city had a free run of about 3 seasons before FFP was setup so i don't see a over night thing here
plus its still harder to find the manager and players with the demand the fans will make with the owners
they are a crazy bunch of fans that will demand silverware

Newcastle fans may need to be patient. I think the combination of FFP and the current financial might within the PL (compared to the rest of Europe) may prove a difficult barrier, at least initially. Although once they break through they'd likely stay assuming they're competently run.
Absolutely. Everton have found it really tough, the landscape has shifted considerably since we were taken over

so we're will reject the deal if the state is involved, but if this public fund that the state absolutely cannot in any way influence, coerce, control remotely buys then it's fine...

Honestly, the nonsense rationalisations when we all know who owns the club is just silly.

First job for them is staying up , they aren’t going to find it easy and new signings of any quality in January are few and far between .

Media seems to be moving away from the "City are state-owned" narrative now, apparently to make it look like Newcastle have 10x the funds we do.

At least until they want to mention sport-washing again.
CAS stating that we aren’t state-owned couldn’t get the job done, but the opportunity for some no-marks to get a few Retweets has finally got the message out there. Overnight we have gone from state-owned and worth £500bn, to owned by an individual worth just £20bn. Bloody paupers.
