How much can they realistically spend under FFP these days?

Premier ffp monitoring period over 3 years you can lose 105m uefa ffp is much stricter think it’s 35m over 3 years could be wrong though.

I don't know why anyone is pleased for Newcastle. Entitled lot. We'd get grief off their fans for being owned by Middle Eastern owners and now it's fine for them.

Would have preferred Sunderland to get the cash injection.

Plus it means another competitor for us.

No doubt over the next number of years they'll be trying to get on the board of UEFA etc like PSG have.

This should be really good news for the club and its supporters. It is true that FFP has made winning a place at the top table more difficult than it was even for us but the changes made in 2015 mean that new owners can agree an investment plan with UEFA as long as it includes a route back to breaking even within 4 years - a year longer than we got! The decisive factor for City was not primarily Sheikh Mansour's wealth (which in fact is effectively limitless) but the appointment of Khaldoon. It was the transformation of the club as a business - promised in Sheikh Mansour's open letter of September 2008 - which meant we kept our place at the top table after the introduction of FFP. Much will depend on how effectively the new owners can operate in the world of sponsorship. The club seems well placed when it comes to match day revenue and associated revenues, especially if investment into the ground and city come onstream as promised. It remains to see how high Newcastle can fly ...

Hughes didn't do that bad given we weren't that attractive a club at the time. Zabba, Vinny, Kolo, Lescott, NDJ, Tevez, Adebayor to name a few.

The first two were just great scouting, the rest strong arm buys, nicely done in not listing the other players we bought. Hughes wasn’t the lure let’s be facing it the money was.

This could be the worst case senario for Levy, we are not a rival to Spurs and so selling to us wouldn't have been too detrimental to them. However The Barcodes are now going to be spending in order to hunt down those Europa league spots. The very same ones that Spurs are chasing.

Or, in Spurs' case this season, the Europa Conference.

Looking at the bigger picture though. The UAE and Saudi are the strongest of allies

We were a lone voice battling against yank owners who no doubt have all colluded to bring us down. They would be happy to see us crushed into the ground

they’ve got another enemy to deal with now

forget their fans. All fanbases have said the same about us but we all know they’d swap with us in a heartbeat

also forget the extra competition. It will take them 3 to 5 seasons to get anywhere near us, giving us that time to plan how to stay ahead of the pack

He went in the dressing room before the Newcastle game to wish the players luck and ended it by saying they need to win so the club could buy some good players
