Fucking ell...what's with all the 5 man midfields? Everyone bricking it?

Get Edin upfront with Jovetic, Silva and Nasri floating around in behind him, and Clichy and Kolarov bombing down the wings!

Don't win games by being scared of the opposition. We need to IMPOSE OUR GAME on every team we play, and we need to start that on Sunday.
Come on Chicago, it's horses for courses mate.
There's absolutely nothing negative with playing one up top and five in the middle of the park away from home.
The home team will attack , but can be stifled with this formation and then hit on the break.

Yeah, but THIS course is not exactly the Grand National, is it?

I could possibly see it against the Top 6 away, but Newcastle? If we can get two goals in the first half, this game would be over and you can take Nasri off and put an extra defensive player in midfield, but let's not leave one of the better (and fit after a pretty full pre-season) creative midfielders on the bench just to overprotect the back four.

Hart; Sagna, Kompany, Nastasic, Kolarov; Fernando, Yaya, Silva, Nasri; Jovetic, Dzeko.

I reckon MP will keep WC finalists/semi finalists out of the squad, because of his recent comments demonstrating the probability but also because it would make sense with the amount of unneeded injuries in the team at the moment.

Sorry mate, I really tried very hard to be serious: "A standard adult football match consists of two periods of 45 minutes each, known as halves". Wikipedia

football league has been played 150 years before wiki was invented.
it's first half and 2nd half.

no need to thank me.

i'm not so sure, i dont think he'll want them to play liverpool straight off a non pre season.

Apart from the Beast, who else is Injured...???? I'm not aware of any..!

Buzzing for this now. Where's everyone going for pre match pints? Was in the Hotspur last year (league cup) and it was full of City fans.

WE'RE NOT REALLY HERE!!!!!

Naaah na na na na na naaah, na na na naaah CITYYYY!!!!

I'm afraid we are in for a difficult start. Too many players with no friendlies to start, and a fair few who are also new to our club. And the fixturelist doesn't look friendly. Than again Pellegrini and his style of football is now more familiar, with a clear view for any newcomers to what he wants.

I would be happy with a draw despite our good record vs Newcastle over recent years. A good start away at Newcastle will be very important. Newcastle themselves have to bed in nearly a complete team of players, so it's hard to tell where they are.

Happy the new season gets underway.
