sorry cant take that serious when you call it 1st period

Sorry mate, I really tried very hard to be serious: "A standard adult football match consists of two periods of 45 minutes each, known as halves". Wikipedia

good don't let it happen again :-)

repeat until embedded
1st half, 2nd half

I just can't see him leaving out both Mangala and MDM.

Mangala said himself that he's been keeping fit, and for £32m I can't see anyone involved in the club wanting to give him a few weeks to get up to speed.

I know it's a bit of a baptism of fire, but if MDM isn't ready, then Mangala needs to play.

If Nastasic is staying at city, then fair enough, play him if needed, but if the rumours of him possibly leaving are true then, i don't think we'll want to play him, and god forbid that we have to play Boyata in a big match like this.

My team would be

-------------------------------Hart-----------------------------
Sagna----------Kompany---Mangala------Kolorov
-----------------Fernando----Zucculini------------------
Nasri----------------------Yaya------------------Silva
------------------------Dzeko/Jovetic----------------------

I'd play an extra man in midfield, as if we are caught not at 100% fitness then this will help with closing down and breaking up play. Let Yaya concentrate more on attacking. I liked the look of Zucculini in pre season, not sure if he'll be considered for the first few months while he acclimatises to a different league/country, but would be very handy for this game as it looks like Fernandinho isn't available.

With the fixture list that we have, plus the fact we've had no choice but to begin with an under-cooked squad that isn't as ready as our rivals, I think we may have to follow a similar pattern to last season and make up ground from about 7th or 8th in the league. We can do it though.

When did Navas last "have a right go"at any full back. Got the pace but seems to lack the courage, confidence and mental strength. He should be one of our difference makers in the final 3rd of the pitch and match. Does most of his best work going backwards. Underwhelmed last season...big one coming up ! !

I also think that will be the team. Possibly with Nasri in for Navas.
