Next Captain

Barry - he's probably the only player who won't get dropped - NDJ wouldn't always get played at home in the 'lesser' games.

If it was up to me i would of dropped barry a month ago, if we had a better midfielder, IMo barry wouldn't of been in the starting 11, hes been woeful since Villa away.

Barry is having a bad spell at the moment as it is, last thing you would want is the pressure of captain on his shoulders to.

I think he's been pretty good in the last couple of games - some of his distribution against Bolton was fantastic.

But what do I know?

De Jong or Kompany for me. I'm assuming that Vinnie will be brought in at some point for Toure or Neds (hopefully Toure). I'm hoping one of the first things Mancini does is put Vinnie back at CB. Vinnie is quite mature, seems to handle himself well and it quite vocal from what I've hear. He's looking stronger and fitter with every appearance and I think it's time he and hopefully Neds stepped up and made the CB roles theirs.

If neither are playing, as neither are at the moment guaranteed a start, then you have an easy stand in in Super Shay.

When I first heard us linked with Touré I knew we could do a lot better. I was puzzled when he was handed the armband. There's no toughness in the center of defense without Dunne. There needs to be more aggression to deal with the balls into the box. I say let's give the captaincy to a coked-up Vinnie Kompany and play him as a center-half.

Dear Mr Mancini,

I have nothing against kolo toure, he's a great player but he's not a leader. Craig Bellamy is.

Please make him our captain asap.
