Next Manager after Pep

Those saying Mancini, this would require that Ferran, Txiki and Brian Marwood all disappeared from our staff list when Pep goes. Which won't be the case.

I'd love to see Bobby make a comeback, to a top league in general but especially with us. He has shown his class again with the national team, and as mentioned man-management side has improved. But he doesn't get on with the people who now hold the most power in the club, possibly with the exception of Khaldoon. That rules it out in terms of real-world likelihood.

We could see him at another EPL club or in Ligue 1, Primeira Liga, Bundesliga, La Liga etc though. *Certainly* he would get another Serie A job.

Bring Mancini back !
Bring Mancini back !!
Bring Mancini back !!!

Bring Mancini baaaaaaaaaaack !!!!,

As an aside, and he will never be City manager, but it will be really interesting to see how Ange Postecoglou gets on at Celtic and sets his team up, having spent a few years in the CFG system at Yokahama. Scottish football is still largely a very direct and physical game so it will be interesting to see if he tries to implement a different style
Celtic have done it before with Brendan Rodgers... and Ronny Deila, now of NYCFC. Lennon in his second spell was a bit of a stylistic hark-back for them.

Great shout, neil lennon, would be perfect, ex city an all
I wasn't suggesting Lennon for us, just talking about him and the other Celtic managers. Any one of Ronny, Brendan, and Ange would be more suited than Neil Imo personally, not to say I'm putting those forward either.

I know he's an ex-player, but as a manager what makes him suitable for us?

We enjoy living in the past, forgetting how poor we were defending the title.

Peps made us one of the best in Europe if not the best.

I love Mancini he was the manager for the right time but what Peps done for city deserves plenty of credit I feel like he's going to leave and some fans will be happy to see the back of him!
The difference was the van persie signing by the rags.
Now if he had signed for City...

Your Mancini loyalty is admirable. Don’t know how you can ignore the complete difference in playing styles and how unreal we play our football. I’m repeating myself but we are playing better football and winning more trophies without everyone fighting at the training ground most weeks. The irony is lost on you criticising losing a champions league final whilst lauding a manager who’s European record was nothing short of abysmal.
Are you a dipper?
We gatecrashed the C/L party.
We weren't welcomed in any way.
Even though we were domestic champions we were given the toughest teams to play in the C/L group stages.
We were set up to fail.
As regards Pep and Roberto.
Pep is definitely the better manager tactically. He is probably the best of the lot.
Roberto on the other hand is mentally stronger. He is tough and can outsmart possibly anyone else.
He never gives up, even when all seems lost.
Pep outsmarts himself sometimes.
I hope that Pep stays with us for a very long time and we continue our fabulous, unprecedented, domestic success.
I daresay that C/L success will come at some point, but I care little, other than the fact of it being one less stick for others to beat us with.
Enjoy where we are and what we have because nothing lasts forever.

Jeez - "a blot on his copybook"
  • Pep just won his third Premier League title with us.
  • It now means he's won a trophy every 24 games during his managerial career.
  • Pep has won 10 trophies with City. comfortably more than any other City manager
As a fan base, some of us are getting very entitled and on the current success, the older generations, of which i am one, would have literally only ever dreamed of the current success in the past! WTF can we all not just enjoy the incredible ride we are on?
Yes. the CL will be nice WHEN it comes, but i am more than content with what we have right now and what we will have more of in the years to come.
What an incredible time to be a City fan ............... at last !!!
Fkin enjoy it FFS !!! :-)
Bang on the money!

Mancini has transformed this Italy side and uses a similar tactical concept to Pep's City. Berardi/Chiesa stays wide to stretch the pitch, Insigne moves inside from LW, enabling LB to overlap. Di Lorenzo plays the Walker role and rarely pushes forward, making it a back 3 in possession. The midfield 3 also operates in a similar way, trying to pull the opposition out and then wingers and CF move into space etc.

Italy's 4-3-3 very closely resembles City's 4-3-3.

So, basically, he just copied and pasted the same concept so maybe it would work again :)

We've been poor defending it under Pep as well. "If not the best" is well wide of the mark. A game against what the majority on here claim to be an inferior Chelsea side to win the champions League and he blows it. Ditto Lyon last season. To be "the best" you have to win it.
