Next Rail Strikes Announced.

Infrastructure, trains and all round safety may also have improved by then too.......but right now,our railways aren't fit,and any planned cuts will be detrimental to elements of society, and that is wholly unacceptable.

Introduce change properly and safely, and ensure welfare, not huge profit,is the priority - no one will have argument then.
This.

"Reforms" are about increasing profit not passenger/staff safety.

There is a flexi bus to Glasgow Sunday 2 am.Due to hotel prices I'm trying this out for the Forrest game.
Plan to stay in pub, something to eat and then get bus.Ish me luck..
Actually better than train if all goes to plan.
A lot better and more comfortable after Lancaster than the train.

If there was a bus home about 7pm I would be tempted.
Is there a strike planned Forest weekend?

Do you think its fair that workers have not had a pay rise in 4 years? while in that time the cost of living has gone through the roof and staff have seen an approx drop in real wages of 20%?

Are you also happy to see a railway that doesn't cater for the needs of the vulnerable and doesn't have enough staff to ensure the safety and wellbeing of passengers is paramount?
The cost of living has gone through the roof for all of us, not just folk who work on the railway..
When will it be enough ??

It's so weird, because in the first time since I was a little lad, remember being around 10/11 when we thought our line was going to get electrified, well it did 40 years later, and now we have decent trains to run on it,instead of clapped out sprinters and even more clapped out pacers.

Nobody would like to travel on them too much, for recreational purposes anyway, but like I say we have good ones now.

Only issue is now, nobody to drive them on important days, like going to the match, sooner it gets sorted the better,if it ever will, but it is getting very tiresome.

There's no pay offer.

The government of withdrawn it and ordered consultation on redundancies/Job reforms within station grades and guards with a percentage rise for agreement "perhaps"

The transport minister is not talking to the RDG or the RMT to resolve the problem.

I half expect coordination in mass action, possibly a week for Tory conference of this continues.

I cannot speak for the drivers. I've seen the last document they sent ASLEF and it's a joke.

I’m not against folk striking mate, that’s their right and I’m definitely in the camp of upholding that.. I dare say most on here don’t know the full story, aside from the obvious pay rise angle … I don’t think disrupting sporting events in such a calculating way is endearing the cause to the average person in the street either … Also some of the salaries earned are another bone of contention..
