Next Rail Strikes Announced.

Nice of you to say so. (Aslef and the drivers were not involved in any industrial action last Saturday as it goes.)

Thanks for the correction. It was RMT members not Aslef.

I thought it would have been the other way round because the other services WMR and GWR seemed to be running okay.

All CC services cancelled because of the strike.

Took me 4hrs and three different trains to get back from Birmingham last Saturday when the normal train takes two hours and is a direct service.

I'll be claiming on those tickets and hopefully get some cash back.

Didn't cross my mind to blame RMT members. Blame rests squarely with Cross-country for their shoddy pay and conditions (which I'm guessing are very shite, just from the condition of their rolling stock).

My missus has to travel by train to Edinburgh and London regularly for work. It's rare (strikes or not) that she isn't delayed or her train is cancelled completely.

What many don't seem to realise, is that you can claim payment for each time. Her company's policy, is that while they pay for the fares (always first class, bless) if she claims it back for such, she can keep it.

Paid for a couple of holidays last year .... keep up the good work guys and gals! :-)

I've done it quite often through GWR. But Cross Country have a more complicated process. Obviously designed to reduce successful claims.

Can't claim for two tickets in the same claim so will have to do by email.

I’m far from kicking off mate, I’m just putting my point of view across in a reasoned way, no animosity, no kicking off…
I’m fully aware of the role of unions and what they have achieved in making employers provide a safe working environment with decent pay …
That doesn’t mean I have to agree with every strike or disruption does it??

Kicking off wasn't the right phrase, whinging is better.

Anyway,let me get this straight......

You understand the pivotal role that Unions play, and the need for industrial action, and you are supportive of strike action and associated unavoidable disruption......but only to a degree.....one that doesn't inconvenience or affect you personally?

Brilliant......if ever again we need trenches, please ensure you are not in mine.

I’ve done my time in the trenches thanks ..
I doubt your army record would stand up against mine ….

You are blinkered and can’t see past your own nose.. Your opinion, valued as it is, isn’t the be all and end all in this discussion ..

Well done buddy.......20 years in Service myself :-)

And i'm really not blinkered at all......its very clear, you are only concerned with your own situation and purely thinking about yourself......i get it,the world is now a selfish place.

In that case I’d be happy to get in a trench with you ..
Let’s agree to differ on this .
