Next season is MH more likely to play 442 or 433?

I would expect us to play 433. Robinho and Tevez will play as the wider of the front three with Adebayor down the middle. De Jong will be the holding player, Barry will play infront of him linking up the play to Ireland and the front three.

so your playing the new 4-1-1-2-1 formation, hoping that the opposition dont realise the wings are empty.. never thought of that ;-)

i hope he starts the season with a 433 formation with, BARRY,lm IRELAND,cm SWP,rm ROBBIE,lf ADY,cf TEVEZ,rf. this looks full of goals on paper, if they gell it coulde be skys the limit. dont know about the back 4 untill JT and LESCOT sorted.

Hmm if you're playing 4-3-3 at least one of your midfielders has to be a defensive player and you have Barry,Ireland and SWP as L,C,R mids! Who's DM? What your formation has is a line of 3 strikers followed by a line of attacking midfielders. Then a big hole between these and your defense. If the right and left backs get forward then you only have 2 back. Fine if you're desperate for a goal in a cup match but not as a starting formation for most of the season.

You wouldn't line up like this! Barry would be left sided defensive mid and De Jong right sided. Bridge and Zabaleta get forward to add width with Tevez and Robbie adding width at other times. It's an extremely flexible system and one which would have worked well for us last season if we'd had a top class target man and Given, De Jong and Bridge from the start of the season.

If you want to play Robinho, Tevez, Ireland and Adebayor in their best positions then it can only be a 4-3-3. There is no way you can play Robinho, Tevez, Adebayor and Ireland in a 4-4-2 and get the best out of them IMO

This is my first 11. As well.

But is rather unlikely both Terry and lescott join us :(

We have the players where we can do formation changes so the opposition don't know what the hell is gonna hit them change it and change it again all good fun for us nightmare for the other teams manager sorted!!!

Based on CURRENT MCFC players it's 4-4-2 all the way for me.

Given

Zabaleta Kompany Dunne Bridge

SWP Barry Ireland Robinho

Tevez Adebayor

The defence could do with a Terry/Lescott boost!

subs:
DeJong, Elano, RSC, Richards, Taylor

When we are attacking it will be a 4-3-3.

But when on the back foot I think we'll see more of a 4-4-2 with Robi joining Ade up front while Barry heads to left midfield and Tevez drops to right midfield. It will be very flexible though. Tevez' workrate is very useful in this sense.

Whatever system we play De Jong and Barry will be holding. Ireland will have a free role with Robinho left Tevez right and Adebayor down the middle at home. Probably a 4 4 2 away with SWP in for Robinho.
