Bayern won at the weekend after two previous defeats ....

As I said before, we had the big guns playing at the weekend. I doubt we'll have all our big names in the team on Wednesday, all we have to play for is prestige and Heynckes will regard that as unimportant compared to three points next Sunday.

would be great to stuff bayern just to shut big mouth rummenigge , can see us winning easily , they have a lot of injuries and have qualified , but villareal have no chance against napoli , so we can concentrate on the domestic treble.

But we won't be drawing a Napoli out of Pot 4 every year. Imagine we drew the Romanians that United got out of Pot 4. 2x win over Villarreal (Pot 2), 2x win over Romanians (Pot 4), through we go irrespective of the results against Bayern.

True and our pot 2 team next year won't perform like a pot 4 team this year. Basically Villareal underperformed and Napoli overperformed. Bayern and us...we performed as our pots suggested we would 1st and 3rd.

The game against Bayern can only be viewed one way: We must play the strongest team we've got (though I fear 'Overhit' (his crosses) aka Kolorav, and Zaba will be back), and go all out for the win. Yes, it's likely Napoli will see off Villareal, but imagine how we'd feel if we didn't do ourselves justice and Villareal somehow pulled something out of the bag!! On the point of the full backs I do feel very strongly: I cannot see us having ended up in this CL position if Micah and Clichy had played in Napoli, and other vital CL games. It seems the weaker pairing are selected for the hardest games - just seems fucking bonkers to me!!

Micah and Clichy played in Munich. Micah had a poor game against Ribery (who might not play on Wednesday). Kolarov might not be fit to play on wednesday.

I agree that we should play what Mancini considers to be our strongest line up. We'd be a complete laughing stock if Villareal held Napoli and a weakened team couldnt beat Bayern.
