He’s a good player but he was always overhyped

Football and Brazil were always desperate
for that new Brazilian superstar like Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Kaka (for a couple of years) etc. so they pushed Neymar as the next in line but the reality is that he was never one of the true top level players.

That’s why many people are underwhelmed when they watch him. His ability never lived up to his marketability.

But if you take him for what he actually is, he’s still a good player, capable of excellent moments now and again.
