Neymar

If the Bundesliga continues to play on a very high level teams like Schalke, Hamburg, Frankfurt or Gladbach will attract fans all over the world again.

No, they will not. Just as Leverkusen didn't after playing CL final.
You do realise that the Bundesliga lost all their income from pay tv rights because of the KirchGroup disaster in 2002? The league struggled because of the financial problems following that for years. It took about a decade to rebuild the league.

You simply have absolutely no clue what happened in german football between 1999 und 2004 and why the league had a massive drop in quality. The Bundesliga already lost that 4th CL spot in 2001 because of a major drop in quality, Bayern winning the CL in 2001 and Leverkusen and Dortmund making it to european finals in 2002 were last twitches of a dying league. The situation right now isn't comparable to 2002, far from it.

Almost everything else you wrote about the Bundesliga is wrong as well, but it's not the right thread to discuss it. I really don't get why someone who clearly hasn't followed the league at all writes so much nonsense about it. It's ridiculous.

Bundesliga doesn't have a chance to challenge Premier League marketing value. Period.
No one wrote that.

No one wrote that.

What the hell are you arguing with me then?

I don't give a damn what Bundesliga went from 2000., I'm just saying that they don't have potential to overtake popularity, as well as quality of Premier League as much as people (Germans and religious Bundesliga fans mostly) like to w@nk on two quality teams that league has these days.

Everybody w@nked on Monchengladbach last year (usual Bundesliga romantic cliches - young players, home made, bla-bla-bla), next one they've sold two players to Bayern (surprise, surprise) and Dortmund, failed to qualify to Champions League and sit at 9th place this season. Next summer they'll sell another two and fight for their place in the league season after. That's what happens if you're not Bayern in Bundesliga - one year you're good, next mediocre and two after fight for your life. Look at teams like Stuttgart, Werder, HSV - one year around CL spots, next year shite.

Freiburgs, frankfurts, stuttgarts and schalkes will never be interesting to worldwide football fan base as manchesters, liverpool and top londons clubs are and will be. That's it and you keep waiting for that to happen.

Santos player Neymar wants to leave and is waiting for Barcelona to confirm they'll try to sign him this summer and to discuss tactics. [md]

sounds like more and more they might not have a pre deal after all

There's no way that rumor was ever true. It would be terrible business for various reasons for both the selling and buying parties.

1+

The president of Barca said a couple of days ago that Neymar was in their list of future signings, meaning they were not interested in signing him in the very near future.

Brazil coach Scolari and tecnical director Parreira will advise Neymar not to join Barcelona this summer but to stay until World Cup. [md]

via @barcastuff as usual

Seems like they think it would be better for him to stay in brasil so they can keep a better eye on him before the world cup?
Also seems like there's new quotes or stories everyday about neymar and where he is or isn't going this summer

More blatant anti-City stuff from the Mail. I guess we're in good company not being a "big club" since he didn't mention United and Bayern either...?

Its easy for them to write so they will continue to do so

it's in the metro as well. terrible journalism...

look at these quotes...

Brazilian superstar Neymar has snubbed talk of a possible switch to Manchester City, hinting he would be more keen on joining Premier League rivals Chelsea – but only if a move to La Liga giants Barcelona fails to materialise.

City were reported over the weekend to be readying a big-money offer for the highly-rated 21-year-old Santos striker.

However, in an interview with Esporte Espetacular, Neymar said that he would be more interested in a switch to Stamford Bridge, but admits that the Nou Camp remains his No.1 choice of destination.

‘I dream of playing in Europe, for a big club like Barcelona, Real Madrid and Chelsea,’ he said.

‘Who wouldn’t dream about playing alongside Messi, Xavi and [Andres] Iniesta? They’re all great players.

‘Yes, Barcelona [impress me the most], they have great players like Xavi, Iniesta, [Cesc] Fabregas and Dani Alves.

‘[But] there’s no point in speculating when I’ll leave Santos. I’ll leave when I want to.

‘I don’t know where I would fit in if I joined Barca but I know my place is at Santos right now.’

where does he snub city?
