Neymar

Probably because we have spent £200m already this summer and £50m for Sanchez would be a better signing for City as we have 3 very young forwards and need an experienced head up front to take pressure from Sergio.
Neymar is experienced proven and young. I'd rather pay 190mil or whatever it was for Neymar rather than 50/60 million for Sanchez especially for a player in his final year. We'd get more out of Neymar now and in the future in regards of winning trophies rather than Sanchez. Money isn't a option. Just don't understand why he would wanna go PSG.

Now being reported that he is remaining in Barcelona for the time being (not on a flight to London), but very much destined for PSG).

Hmm, at TV company with it's own betting subsidiary releases a story which directly influences betting odd's. Nope, can't see a problem with that at all.......

New song if we play PSG

This is how it feels to be City
This is how it feels to be small
You signed Neymar Junior
We signed Ederson, Bernardo Silva, Kyle Walker, Mendy, Danilo and Alexis Sanchez

We were close to doing the deal last summer I believe but I now wonder if that wasn't a smokescreen for Messi.

I think it was a case of either/or tbh. Let's not forget Suarez sacked Pere Guardiola at the time too. I think we pushed hard to get any of the 3 and failed.

Messi was probably the most likely. I had some rock solid ITK info on him last year, as someone I know directed a tv commercial with Messi for a few days and while I never heard City were in for him, Messi was openly cursing the Spanish govt and more importantly the Barca brass for not backing him better in the tax stuff. I'd say we were probably very close to luring him at the time.

We definitely moved for Neymar, as the early posts on the thread had sussed out. I think we tried Suarez too and that led to a bust up with him and Pere.

Looking forward to all the articles and posts from around the world containing the words
Clubs like PSG and Man City..

Stinks doesn't it!

And to think they're allowed to take gets on cycling too.

La Liga accusing PSG of financial doping. They say it's unfair for Spanish clubs to compete again state-backed clubs like PSG (Qatar)

Is fair that Girona is competing against Real Madrid ?

But it's ok for real Madrid to be financially backed but the Spanish royal family

Maybe they can see the shift from them being top of the tree and getting what they want all the time to that of scavenging for scraps from PSG and us and they just don't like it :)

I've no idea how PSG will account for it, but he's the only signing they have paid out for so if they sell a couple the fee and wages won't be that bad, probably less than our summer spending. Either way FFP is still a thing and when the time comes they will pass or fail, it has no relevance to us as as far as I can see we have no intention of not being self sustaining.

the fee is maybe ok to cover up but the wage reported is £650.000 a week and thats over 5 years its going to be hard to balance the book if PSG fear the FFP but am saying right now uefa could not bring them into account clubs have won the battle over FFP and its not a problem

why would uefa stop neymar playing in the champions league he is the biggest start in brazil there would be a strike and players and clubs would back the player and walk away tv companies want the big stars and clubs this is why city should have gone for messi the players is bigger than uefa and unstoppable just think the tv company being told nope messi and manchester city can not play tonight

The issue is PSG won't be responsible for it in any way.

Neymar is mysteriously buying himself out of his contract with "his own money(cough)" and then will sign a deal with PSG.

That's why La Liga are going nuts.

Only gossip at this stage. And I certainly wouldnt put it past a few to spread that gossip as widely as possible.

I doubt it could happen like that.

UEFA have released a statement regarding Neymar's potential world record move to PSG, stating they have received no complaints over the proposed move... “We have not received complaints from anyone regarding this matter. All clubs in Europe must respect financial fair-play rules and must demonstrate that they do not have losses of more than 30m euros over three years. As part of the continuous monitoring of clubs under financial fair play regulations, UEFA will look into the details of this transfer in due course to ensure PSG are compliant with FFP requirements;” “The transfer of Neymar to PSG will have an effect on the club finances over several years but the impact of such an operation cannot be judged in advance, notably as PSG could well sell several players for a significant amount. We shall therefore only make calculations at the end and make sure that they respect the rules.

Just asked by Cadena COPE, Wagner Ribeiro, advisor of 25-year old Brazilian attacking star Neymar, confirmed Paris Saint-Germain have just paid Barcelona FC the whole exit clause set on him, amounting to the tune of 222 million euros, a world-record transfer. Ribeiro also told former Santos star, leaving Blaugrana after three seasons, will be introduced as a new PSG player before the end of next weekend.

Isn't he his former agent? Take it with a pinch of salt, he's stating the obvious, but I wouldn't take it as gospel from him if he isn't privy to it.
