NFL 2014

Fair play to dwayne Allen, came out and said they would have beaten us regardless. He ain't wrong, but id still enjoy seeing the smug cunts getting their arse handed to them.

Any decent tips/bets for the big one?

Toss a coin
Am I right in thinking the Chargers hired Nolan as their LB coach?

Yeah was gonna ask you what you thought? The Falcons fans seem to be happy he's gone, but then there's not much talent on your D. Nolan seems to have had a bit of success at times but been pretty average over the past decade at various places. He also has some crazy stats that his first season at a new place seems to be very successful and then he falters away. Seems to be a friend of Mike McCoy's and possibly a replacement for DC John Pagano if he continues to be shit.

I'm truly delighted he's gone but to be fair he's not going to have control over your entire defense.

Otherwise you could expect Te'o at safety with Weddle at nose tackle and you'd sign Kroy Biermann to play every other position at once; he hasn't a clue. Our defense isn't the most talented, not by a long stretch, but he left many of our better players on the bench and played favourites; Biermann over Massaquoi, Ishmael proved to be a stud at safety and he was dropped like a rock, and worst of all he gave Hageman about 5% of snaps each game and he is our most disruptive player by far. He finished with about 4/5 blocked kicks, he can get off his block. It was Nolan and Smith that were adamant at spending big in FA and building from the inside out, meaning we had and still don't have even a bad pass rush, there's no word to describe how little pressure we get.

Geno Smith lit up Nolan's D. That in itself should say it all.

It's an interesting hire as a position coach and should tbf be a decent hire but don't ever think you'll want to see him as your DC.

Sounds like he'll fit right in with the Chargers. Great. Another year of watching the defensive coaching staff cost us game after game. That might be a little harsh, and if Verrett (absolute stud CB btw) can stay fit, we can re-sign Flowers and get one or two other pieces we should in theory have a decent D. But we won't, all of our best players will get injured and Donald Butler will continue to play like a man who got paid far too well. John Pagano is a terrible DC, but he also does enough late in the season to keep his job. Really pissed that the Chargers made a very early decision to keep Reich and Pagano as co-ordinators because both are below average.
