NFL 2023-24

Glad I went to bed at half time. Hard to criticize Campbell as he’s been amazing for the Lions, but if you’re going go for it on 4th down and turn down field goals, it’s going to cost you eventually if you don’t make them.

Amazing season for the lions and first time I have really enjoyed watching them throughout a full season. Young core of players as well so hopefully not a one season wonder.
I agree it's been a great season & no-one would've predicted they would do as well as they did.

The 1st half yesterday was brilliant stuff, they totally outplayed the 49ers, who didn't know what hit them, but the 2nd half was a complete turnaround and the total collapse got embarrassing to watch and was up there with the Lions teams of the past.

There was something about the 3rd quarter this season. I'm not sure if they think they've won the games already, but they sit back, go in their shell too often, forget how to tackle it happened again yesterday and they got punished big time.

Oh well, hopefully they kick on again next season and can get in some top talent for the defence...and get a decent kicker!

Not a big follower of 'murican football, so I may have taken this wrong. Did I hear correctly, that the Lions are the only team to have played in every superbowl era season, and never got their mitts on the big one?

No, there are a few, the Los Angeles Chargers (prev. San Diego) are one, the Vikings another and the Bufallo Bills have the unfortunate record of going to 4 Superbowls in a row.....and losing all of them.

There's another 8 who have never won a Superbowl, but were formed after the Superbowl

Never mention the phrase 'Wide right' to a Bills fan

They are the only team who was around when the first Super Bowl was played, in Jan 1967 I think, who have not been in the SuperBowl. Others haven’t won it the Bills come to mind…

Can add Cleveland to that.

But Cleveland didn't have a team for 4 years after they relocated to Baltimore to become the Ratbirds so weren't in continuous operation really. That team stayed in Baltimore and the Browns were re-formed in 1999.
