NHS being recommended 1% pay rise

Why should it matter. If nurses deserve it then they should get it. The same for the other public services. It shouldn’t have to be a comparison.

for some people it does - they are so bitter because their employers won the race to the bottom they don't see why anyone else shouldn't be dragged down to their level

Why the private sector pays for these pensions , same with council staff

My mother in law was nhs , she said its easy for staff , staff members off sick loads full pay etc , too many middle managers

I get 3% pension, pay 40% tax have a blt as a pension so maybe the full package should be looked at

why is your pension so low?

who told you that? I must have gone to a chip shop for my colonoscopy in January then and my wife had a mammagram at the cobblers in the high street - of course its been open....

so its the health service in your area then? Only I have a nephew who has undergone heart surgery in the last year - twice once in Manchester once in Liverpool. Niece had a premature baby and was taken into hospital - Manchester - FiL has had a bit to heart trouble and has been in and out of hospital for checks etc over the last year - Teesside - a former work colleague has had a knee operation - Poole - and a retired former work colleagues wife has had a new hip - Kent. Seems like its been pretty much open to me.
