NHS pay deal

Hope they reject it , if they had included free cark parking ,which would have saved them hundreds of pounds and substidised food like the mps get , then it might have been enough to get more nurses in and retain nurses which is one of the MAJOR problems , then it would be ok

You’d have to pay the nurses to eat that shite!!

I doubt it will be rejected… take the 10.2% now and live to fight another day would seem a sensible approach. Nurses have been shafted for years compared to other PS workers - now that’s either because they don’t strike or because it’s primarily a female profession….if it’s because of the former that myth is now destroyed so let’s see the pay awards going forward.

The day after it was stated it was ‘new money’ it’s now from existing budgets. The good news about that is that it’ll make the NHS even worse and so is yet another nail in the coffin of this absolutely hopeless bunch of chancers.
Let’s hope for electoral reform so they’re never in government again.

Where would you suggest the extra money comes from? Borrow it, or tax increases?
Raab doesn't know where it's coming from, Hunt doesn't know, Sunak doesn't know, you don't know, I don't know. But are you really back to "There's no money tree"? Just do what Tories do - print more of the stuff. (But call it Quantitative Easing - it came in handy for half a trillion pounds to stave off collapse of the economy after the referendum.) Or tax non-doms - and don't give the richest 1% a pensions and inheritance bonus.

I agree with that bit at least. The rest is the usual shite I expect.

They failed to mention that you can backdate your pensions contributions 4 years and claim tax relief on your £240k .

The party of the people?

There's 21 trillion of tax avoided wealth now hiding in the British territories. A 2022 report declared the UK the tax avoidance capital of the world, doing more to harm international tax arrangements than any other nation.' yet we can't afford to properly fund public services, and teachers have to accept a real-terms decline of 11% over the last decade...seriously? And we wonder why education, for one, has a problem with recruitment and retention? There is a very easy solution to this but not one that this government will take. Why, because Rees-Mogg moves his fund to Dublin to avoid tax; Rishi's family are non -dom, to avoid tax; Nadhim Zahawi owes millions to the HMRC, because he avoids tax; the Daily Mail is based in Bermuda, to avoid tax. They are compromised, and their paymasters have them by the balls. Meanwhile, they are ruining the services that we need. Anyone supporting that is, frankly, completely myopic, completely selfish, or ignorant, IMO.

Wait, the Daily Mail is based in Bermuda for tax purposes?
