Nice areas of England to live

Hart in Hampshire

42 mins by train to Waterloo
population 91,000
average weekly wage £841 (£235 above average)
14 burglaries per 10K population
746 ML rain per annum (average is 882)
3 hours sunshine per week more than the average.

whats not to like other than 200 odd miles from Etihad

great schools, no graffiti, beautiful countryside, decent pubs and restaurants

in fact - fuck off somewhere else so you don't lower the tone :-)

Sandbanks in Poole Dorset.

I think it is one of the most expensive , if not the , most expensive place to live in the UK.

gorgeous...

Otherwise...Try Newton Heath :-)

It's the 4th most expensive place to buy propety in the world. I woulden't bother buying there anyway, it'll be underwater in the next 10 years...

Sandbanks... not Newton Heath.

whereabouts do you live Ronnie, can't be too far away from my neck of the woods, I'm in Farnham, which is also a lovely place to live.

Whitby. It's the nicest town in North Yorkshire by a mile. Low crime, friendly people, relatively cheap and a generally good place to live.

Forget Harrogate, it's too expensive.
Absolutely love whitby and robin hoods bay.

Robin Hoods Bay is amazing. I live in Whitby but spend most of my time in Bay, I might aswell move down there. Great pubs.

The South West. Much cheaper than the south east, better weather than the north, low crime, nice villages, Bath is beautiful but expensive, nice people, relaxed lifestyle.

Get yourself a place in the countryside down there - more land, more bang for your buck, none of the modern day city problems like overpopulation, immigration, chavs, crime, terrorist threats etc.

Only problem - 400 mile round trip to the Etihad (nearly wrote Maine Road).

I believe the Iranian's are targeting the Countryside for attacks. They're jealous of the beautiful scenery, while all they get is dry desert.

The south side of Altrinham; Dunham, Bowden, Hale or Hale Barns.

Local schools are very good. Met into town is minutes away. Only an 8mile drive to the city centre. Airport is minutes away. Motorways are close. It's in the North where the accents are not crucifying to the ears.

Harrogate has some of the most expensive property in the country.

I have a lovely little house in Radcliffe and am prepared to do a 'swap' with you.

Thanks to all who have replied.

Cost isn't really a major issue as it's only for a couple of years or so and we'd only be renting. Plus Phuket isn't exactly cheap for housing.

Funnily enough we had thought about a house swap but they generally seem to be 2-3 months at most.

If cost is not an issue I would say in and around Cambridge.

Incredible schools, beautiful countryside and buildings, not that far from London - fucking expensive.
