When we get these kind of reports for these type of deals they always ends up getting done.

It is the times we end up haggling with other top clubs for the most attractive players in the market it often fizzles out.

I want this to happen simply because we have no legs in midfield. We are the worst team in the league without the ball.

However, this kid isn't going to save our season. We're still going to be inconsistent and I think a few more batterings are on the way between now and the summer.

Not trying to be a party pooper but the issues with the current team go far beyond simply missing Rodri and the resolution isn't as simple as putting a kid in his spot who doesn't even play as a lone DM.

Other than desperately trying to finish in the top four, this season is a write-off. Don't pin your hopes on this guy to return us to former glory in less than half a season and don't write him off when he inevitably struggles in a struggling side.

Also the worst team in the league with the ball. For me that’s where the problems really start.

I hope we get this player not to save our season but hopefully he can help link it all together.

Like some on here, he’s assuming Rodri will come back and immediately show Ballon D’or levels again
It will take him time and probably also some compensatory niggles, it he ever does reach that level again. It’s not a given, Leroy, Laporte etc were never quite the same after serious knee injuries

..load of hogwash. Rodri cannot play all of our 60+ matches.

This transfer was a top priority as soon as we learned that Rodri had done his ACL and was out for the season.

Yet here we are, midday on the final day of the transfer window and the transfer that was needed has still not arrived.

We've had 19 weeks and 1 day to sort this out, what have we been doing all this time.
