Nicola Sturgeon

I think the only way Labour will get into power is with SNP help. But I'm guessing the price of that is Indyref 2 which would be an act of self-harm for Labour because if they're ever going to get a UK majority again, they will need Scottish seats for which Scotland obviously needs to remain in the union.

Just because Labour may have to allow Indyref2 doesn't mean it will go through. If Brexit gets voted down after a new vote I'm not to sure that the Scottish electorate would be up for another huge disruption that an Independence vote would cause.

I doubt Sturgeon and co would miss the opportunity whether or not the Scottish people are ready for it.

That ship has sailed. Labour will be lucky to win five seats. They shot themselves in the head during the last Indy ref. Hundreds of thousands of voters will never vote for them again. Me included.

if Labour don't get in, independence will defiantly happen. No way are the Scottish people willing to put up with another four years of Tory government and leave the EU against their will. They may also still leave if Labour get in, but there is a chance they will vote to stay.

What did they do?

Stood "shoulder to shoulder" with the Tories in a pack of fucking lies. Murphy, Cunningham, Come on Darling, we're leaving, and many more were a bunch of utter cunts. You can forgive enemies but never traitors and Scottish Labour have been on the endangered list since then. This election they will be wiped out with less seats than the wank lib Dems. Once upon a time you could guarentee 40+ seats. Not anymore. They have lost councils too. Suicide by association.

That is the only thing that geys me.

The SNP are niether left wing or social democratic.

I can undersrand why those wanting independance vote for them, but ex -labour saying it's because of their left wing slant are talking through their arse in my opinion.

Labour failed scotland after devolution as they failed a lot of places in the old industrial heartlands by not investing, and so were punished by the electorate.

Choosing the SNP though as a similar caring alternative is nonsense though

Have a flick through the manifesto, i'd say they are both. It is like reading a slightly more realistic Greens'
I doubt Sturgeon and co would miss the opportunity whether or not the Scottish people are ready for it.

I doubt they would try without believing they had a real chance. They do actually want independence.
