Nicola Sturgeon

Corbyn is getting my vote this time around because I want to vote for something different, he'll be running around getting his legs slapped for 2 years and his own party will throw him out IMO. Sturgeon will be the same, if she wins independence for Scotland and it isn't plain sailing she'll be ousted by her own countrymen and women.
I've stated before if I was Scotsman I'd be wanting her to be in my corner but she was annihilated on the AN show particularly regarding the currency and Scotlands deficit.

Suppose 4 years of madness followed by a 20 year recovery is something different I will give you that.

Yep, and this is what i struggle to get. Scottish tories have literally done absolutely nothing, other than make up numbers and toe the party line. Why would anyone back them.

in 2017, i could understand it, labour were useless with kezia openly pushing tactical voting tory to stick it to the snp, with lib dems not credible right across the uk, they managed to champion themselves as the only likely unionist party to hold the snp back, and with ruth showing signs of a backbone, managed to convince people she'd stand up to boris and hard right tories when push came to shove between scotland's interests and their own agenda. But since then, they've been non-existent, with ruth resigning over the direction it is all going (in part, allegedly).

Yet, the polls still suggest people will back them. Ok might not translate into more than 10-15 seats, but as a percentage, its 25-30%.

Which to me says people will rather accept a right wing tory government led by even someone as dangerous as Boris, that will not bother with Scotland's (or n.i's) importance to the union, and brexit too, over independence and leaving the UK.

Which is why i made the point earlier, 10 or more tory seats, to me, is a sign Scotland is not ready to pursue independence again this soon.
So if 10 seats means we do t want Indy, what does winning over 40 mean? We are having a laugh? We just vote SNP to annoy people? The rise in their MP's last time was a switch by previous Labour voters who are unionist. Even then the SNP won more seats that all u ionist party:s combined.

The raving monster loony party has more chance of winning 10 seats in Scotland than the Tory's this election.

I said that (to me) it suggests that we as a society are not ready to push for independence, yet. thats nearly 30% of the electorate that would rather vote for the tories and brexit than the prospect of independence. That is all. the arguement is conceptual, rather than numeric or political. And more of an internal one.

Obviously, shades and moderations inbetween, as people vote for a a whole array of reasons, on both sides. And yes, logically, i recognize that double the votes of all the remain parities together suggests the desire.

Irrespective of the above, I've already noted i think the snp have the mandate. And pointed out elsewhere (i think the other Scottish independence thread on this subforum, prob a couple pages back now) that i've noticed a shift in people changing their minds on the issue.

I wouldn't bet on that.

In fact, i would. I'll bet you 10 or more. What do you say, 5 or less? the prize is nothing more than an acknowledgement.

There are plenty that vote SNP that don’t want independence, we’ve even been told on this thread by their voters.

You must be forgetting the referendum only 5 years ago, that was “once in a generation”.

Once Brexit is over with and things settle down, and for that matter the cold hard reality comes out of how damaging independence will be, the independence feeling will die a quick death.

This "once in a generation" pish, was a comment by Salmond, one man. No one person decides what our country does.

As for "when Brexit settles down"? Good fucking luck with that one. Remember 62% of us don't want it. It will be an unmitigated economic disaster. Add in the Etonian lying fat **** Bawbag, selling out to his fellow lying bastard pal Trump and the whole thing turns to shit. These realities won't dampen Indy, if you believe that you're kidding yourself on.
