Try and keep you chin up blues the fee is crap but we would of lost him for nowt just for the sake of cover. None of us now what has happend or happening behind the scenes.

we don,t but how do you replace the best in a certain field?......

Is he? A fans favourite and a useful player but Mancini seems to think there are better players.

Mancini seems to like more versatile players. For me, De Jong wasn't quick enough and passed it sideways too much. A latter day Neil McNab. Also, we conceded goals last year that we really shouldn't have with a player like De Jong on the pitch - Napoli away match springs to mind. Agree that we need to sign a top midfielder to make the move seem sensible at this price, although if De Jong loved the club that much he would have signed the contract that we offered him last year.

Video of De Jong arriving in Milano:

Regardless of his suitability for our team, I always hoped he would see out his career here. One of the true characters of the squad :(

Sad to see him go. Pretty much the player that if a fan was picked out of the crowd would play like. Charging around the pitch and putting in a proper shift for the club.

We have got a laughable amount for him, I don't care that he was in his last year of his contract and so on.

Marwood better have something up his sleeve as Rodwell can't be expected to step in and play in the CL and so on straight away.

been a great player for us but the team has moved on a lot while he's been here and now now he doesn't fit the team IMO, thanks Nige and good luck.

agreed

We have got Kompany for the long term.

Some may disagree with me here but I seriously think Milner could do NDJ's job.... except Milner got some added ball skills n can move forward on occasion. Besides, I hope many would agree Milner is **%6^ as a winger

I'm with you blue, always looked better in the middle of Villas midfield, drives me nuts when I see him pushed out to the wing.

He won this award when he played as a CM not a winger, and he said in many interviews that his favorite position is CM .
