Corruption is a mighty accusation. Personally, I think the FA and it's members are far too pure to accept payments to fix games. But I do think many of it's members and referees are intimidated by Sir Red Nose, and as a result favour United. Imagine giving a penalty to the opposite team against United that puts the game out of their favour. They will then get a tongue lashing from Fergie, and he won't be punished for it due to the "respect" he "deserves".

EDIT: A journalist or something needs to get wind of that Fulham article, could cause some damage.

I agree. It's not corruption, it's not bribary; it's that everyone is gutless as fuck and scared to death of a Fergie backlash. We see and hear his poison words and actions, he doesn't hold back does he? But just imagine the shit he pulls that we don't see or hear. Imagine the extremity of strongly worded letters and phone calls that Fergie makes behind closed doors, I'll guarantee he threatens people in a way that intimidates everyone. Thus EVERYONE walks round in egg shells for Man U-fuckin-nited and they get all these decisions their way.

I said recently in a thread asking why we're not quite a top team yet and one of my reasons was because Mancini hasn't been here long enough and MCFC haven't been at the too long enough to command this sort of respect and fear factor.

Exactly (although it does make it a "a corrupt system")

I think you are spot on there! Sir Kunt is in the bracket if Andy Gray was think he's bigger than sky! The rags have people in all football places in the FA! Apparently Sir Kunt goes to all the Ref meeting!

And yet somehow he doesn't seem able to find some time for the BBC... Fergie is a masterful manipulator, I'll give him that.

Time to face up to the reallity boys if the penalty had correctly been awarded
I would speculate that it would have been saved and they would still have won .

Just let the anger go.

Sometimes you must doff your cap.

If that was City this board would have absolutely gone barmy in admiration.

good luck to them I say and bring on the 12th because we are going to be the 1st to beat them in the premier.

So you face up to reality by fanticising? How does that work then?

If that did happen then you could conceivably doff your cap. But it didn't. If it was the first time something like this has happened then you could pass it off as them getting lucky. It happens way too often for it to be luck. And it just happens to be the same referees time after time. These aren't marginal decisions. These are pretty blatant. So blatant that its embarrasing.

How about this, should be easier to follow:

a) Football is a game. Football is a big business too.
b) There are nice games, there are awful games. There are no nice big businesses.

Please feel free to pick the thesis you would like to debate. If you can't argue against either, kindly STFU.

come on pal is my scenairio that far fetched?

They have been producing results like than for nigh on 20 years and are still doing it now with arguably their worst team in the modern era.... a team which could go on to remain unbeaten in 38 games.

I gave up feeling bitter many many years ago and I very rarely watch them play.I turned over just before half time last night to see they were 2 nil down much to the surprise of my 8 year old son.I told him it would 'probably end up 2-3 by the time he gets up in the morning'.
I did not watch a single second of the 2nd half but felt compelled to seek out the result on SSN 10 minutes after what I thought should have been the end of the game to hopefully confirm the end of their unbeaten run.....oops....

Would you really have doffed your cap if my fanciful story had been true or would you have found something else to focus your anger on?

Jesus getting to 100 posts took a wee bit longer than anticipated

The refs favouring Utd is obviously not the ONLY factor behind their remaining unbeaten, so why do you keep assuming otherwise? Pure demagogy, in its shittiest form.
