He's an older player who has had a good season and who can IMO fill in as a backup player. But - also IMO - he doesn't strike me as someone whom an UCL-winning side would purse to start in their squad.

Then you havent been following the news. Barcelona have been very strongly linked to him.

Accepted he's not the biggest "name" but his record is very impressive

Is there a left winger in the world that would go to Real or Barca and start ahead of Ronaldo or Neymar?

And I don't see why he wouldn't be a starter at PSG seeing as they play Cavani there as they have no LWs.

It's madness that some people are writing him off before he's even joined, let alone kicked a ball for us. Perhaps we should trust Guardiola's judgement. He knows which players fit his system.

As a backup I think he'd do fine. By all accounts a stable personality and his experience could help mentor younger players.
