i reckon that i could pull together a group of mates and flatten these weirdo's ;) or even better Bluemoon Vs North Korea

I'm flying to S. Korea (Inchon) on Friday, so I'll let you know if I see any missiles in the air. I will be about 20 miles from the DMZ!

It can be a Bluemoon exclusive!

Seriously, I'll "take the temperature" of the situation while I'm there and let you know firsthand what people who hear this shit regularly all think about it!

Ok. Hands up those who actually BELIEVE N Korea are seriously threatening nuclear war??

One of their alleged targets is Austin, Texas...

AUSTIN, TEXAS!!!!!

Somebody must know why!

Second of all, they have a nuclear plant, fine, but we're talking about any nuclear warhead options out of their reach for, at least, a year. Thirdly, there is clear evidence of photoshop at work with some of their 'war games' and what the fook is this high tech sh*t...??

There's something not quite, erm, right about the antenna on that box of tricks.

The thing that bothers me the most about this situation compared to previous sabre rattling from this lot is that they are publishing pictures in an attempt to show the world they are serious and yet we are just laughing about their archaic and comical attempts...but and here's the big but, somebody somewhere has got this chubby dog eaters ear and are advising him to go down this line so they are either mad (which makes them dangerous) or believe in what they are saying (which makes them foolish and dangerous). Either way this situation is unpredictable because its the first time we've been here with this fella and I'm sure many will look at it like its the same old same old but the bloke looks like the sort of kid that's been locked up in his room for all his life having sex with family members...the sort of weird fucker in the office that you think is just a harmless weirdo and then one day, bang, the fucker just go postal.

I'm pretty certain the US hasn't imposed food sanctions on anybody. I do accept that other sanctions sometimes have what you and I would consider undesirable consequences, maybe these are desirable/foreseeable for the US, but the fact is when you want to bring change you need a stick not a feather. Unsettle the population you unsettle the leaders, I don't think that is a strategy that would work in North Koreas case.

Is it acceptable for the US to pick an choose who should have nuclear weapons? Yes. Ideological stances around self determination and fair play have to be put to one side when we are talking of these weapons. We already have two countries (India/Pakistan) that have nuclear weapons and indicated they were prepared to use them in their spat of words a couple of years ago. Iran wants and will probably get, and whilst we are deeply distrustful of that regime I think the bigger concerns are it will start a nuclear arms race in the Middle East. With North Korea they have said they would strike pre-emptively, they are unpredictable, they have a track record of firing weapons (SK navy vessel sunk, cross border shelling), if we let them get too far down the line they will bring us to the brink...their people are starving they will not revolte, the US will limit their ability to produce weapons, but like Iran they are far enough along that it is seemingly unstoppable. North Korea needs to come out of the cold but the regime know for that to happen it will be the end for them, they don't have the luxury of time, their strategy seems to me to be geared towards using the bomb to hold the world to ransom. The question is can the US live with that.

Just remind me again, which country is the only one to use a nuclear weapon against another countries population?

In fairness (if there is any from it) it was during a full scale war and 68yrs ago
Im sure if the Germans, Russians, Japanese etc had developed one they would of used it as well

My point was that they used it to show the world they had one, and would use it. Then they get to pick and choose who else can.
I'm not so sure about it being necessary to have used it but that's a different argument.
Always looks like the playground bully stopping anyone else getting as big a stick as them so nobody can beat them.

Far from it. What Kim Jong Un is trying to do with this show of strength is two things, first one being to serve as a deterrent, so that the US or South Korea will think twice before interfering in the country's affairs. The second thing he is trying to do is bring the US to the negotiating table for lifting century old sanctions so that he has access to more resources to improve the well being of the people. This is an intelligent and planned move. They wont attack anyone. The rhetoric and nuclear weapons is just to serve as a deterrent. Once he feels that it has achieved its purpose, he will back down and concentrate on improving the economy. The current ruler is much more modern than his father. Do not for one moment think that these are the ramblings of a mad ruler.
