North Stand Construction Discussion

And a stuffed bird dangling from the roof.
A lot of people referring to the proposals as only being concepts ! This isn't the case a paper back in UAE quickly took down a post at 8.35 yesterday morning confirming it was going ahead ! The consultation period is basically pc correctness to meet the required technicalities ! Unlike the South Stand there is no residential area or roads likely to be effected by this build I expect plans all ready drawn up to pass to MCC once 26th March consultation period ends the only thing that would stop it is if us fans didn't want it which clearly isn't the case !

Fuck 'em.

Put them on the third tier, out of sight in the far corner of the East Stand.

Put netting and stewards down the middle.

Don't give them any advantage or wider visibility, whatsoever.

Same as Newcastle and United do.

Block off a stairwell and they can simply walk down directly to the coach park.

Why should we welcome supporters who spout shit about us?
Like big screens, pitchside seats for away fans is yet another PL rule that applies to pretty much everybody except them

The new bar in SSL1 may of been a test for how it can work and its worked an absolute treat. Open space, big bar with decent service, places to sit and drink or stand, screens showing scores and music on. Times that by 100 and make it a lot smarter and no doubt it will be a huge success.
SS1 one bar is the dogs ******** served in seconds by guys and girls who know what they are doing, an absolute revelation.

Yeah absolutely, totally transformed having a beer pre, mid and post match. Its made going into the ground before hand a decent experience and actually if in no rush after the game have a beer, see the highlights, let the crowds die down etc. Now imagine that 100 times the size with live music on, decent food options, alternative beers etc, it will be class.

A destination on its own, never mind the mighty blues playing:)

It’s a requirement by the PL that at least some of the away allocation must be pitch side. Utd and Newcastle have special dispensation to avoid it. The former due to the disabled section and the latter due to the tunnel under the stand.
Interesting that those dispensations seem to have been granted in perpetuity- they should be given a time frame to comply. When the Dippers built a new main stand - didn’t anyone at the PL think to mention a large screen? Of course they didnt.

The Newcastle excuse is absolute bollox no idea how they get away with it

You prevent your opponents kicking towards their own fans.

Mourinho did exactly that when he first went to Chelsea
This! I’ve never understood why we are happy for away teams to shoot towards there fans in the second half of every game, we shoot away from our most vocal supporters and allow them an advantage. After all this shit we’ve had recently from other clubs and there supporters we should do everything we can to give ourselves an advantage
