It’s difficult to judge how many outlets they’ll be from the plan posted, and how scalable they’ll be on non-match days and so on.
But at the very least I would think that the rent City charge on these units would be heavily influenced by the expected demand on match days. The club seems quite good at extracting every last penny, so I wouldn’t expect it to be that different with these outlets.
I could see a food court doing well as a destination eating venue with parking. Outlets could be open to small independant caterers as well as chains or run by City, to provide variety. Not necessarily. People will want to get food before a gig/show at the arena. People will do tours of the stadium. Staff at the offices and hotel, guests of the hotel, etc. There are plenty about that could use the food outlets outwith match days.
Nice thought but I don’t see “good value food and beverages “ being high up on the clubs agenda . Still can’t get my head round a 50 ml gin & tonic costing £10+ and peroni at £7 a pint !I could see a food court doing well as a destination eating venue with parking. There are many examples, especially in the far east located in malls that cater for thousands each day with dozens of outlets/stalls offering good value food and beverages cafeteria style. A central cashier payment system where you buy credits on a card, to purchase from any outlet with the balance repaid at the end or just kept for the next time, speeds up service.
No doubt that City will have done their homework in choosing their options.
Imagine the scrap money the site lads will make when they weigh everything yellow in, two weeks all inclusive to Cancun for everyoneAnything yellow is temporary until the cables are installed to support the new roof
But not the far east of Manchester !;-)Nice thought but I don’t see “good value food and beverages “ being high up on the clubs agenda . Still can’t get my head round a 50 ml gin & tonic costing £10+ and peroni at £7 a pint !

Concessions usually pay an inclusive rental for their outlet in a food court and set their own prices. However rental fees can be high, pushing up prices which if too high will not attract sufficient trade to stay in business.Nice thought but I don’t see “good value food and beverages “ being high up on the clubs agenda . £7 for a pint of Peroni is a bargain compared to Edinburgh prices.Nice thought but I don’t see “good value food and beverages “ being high up on the clubs agenda . Still can’t get my head round a 50 ml gin & tonic costing £10+ and peroni at £7 a pint !
What's the price of scrap steel these days?Yes all bespoke so no other option but to melt down. I would imagine they wont be leaving it on the roadside kerb for collection by a passing pikey.
Apparently they do, the bigger and brighter they are the more heat is produced and weather impacts on them as well. So it looks like there will need to be cooling fans running when they are on.Do led’s emit heat ?? ( assuming it’s led screens ? )
Are you scruffy Jim ???What's the price of scrap steel these days?
Think that’s why the brackets project well beyond the cladding leaving about 150 mm gap to allow air circulation around the screens , very much doubt any fans will be required , but I may be wrong ;-)Apparently they do, the bigger and brighter they are the more heat is produced and weather impacts on them as well.
