I hope it does work. I want it to work. It probably will work if the majority of singers relocate from SSL1, 111 and 110, and the numbers are multiplied by singers from other parts of the stadium. It will be interesting to see what the relocation will be like from different parts of the stadium. As others have said, I think being next to the away fans will convince people(singers) to stay next to the away fans. I can’t see a big void in the SSL1 safe standing seating when the new home end opens, and those safe standing seats subsequently being taken up by matchday tickets sales and tourists. Who knows. We’ll find out in 2-3 years time. Until then we can discuss the topic to death. :-)

1 reason for example. It could go either way as a decision still hasn’t been made by the club, apparently.(not sure about that) Not in public anyway. It’s a question City Matters and 1894 will ask.(hopefully?) Is NSL2 going to be made partially safe standing? If there isn’t going to be safe standing on NSL2, that will deter people from relocating. I like everyone else in SSL1 enjoy (safe) standing. In-fact I love it. I couldn’t sit down for 90 minutes or for most of the game. I wouldn’t move to NSL2 if the club confirmed there will be no safe standing on NSL2 and it will be a seating tier only.
This is what City should have been looking at doing for the NS expansion. Instead they decided to go in another direction.
As it was explained during last week's presentation, the goal is ”more tickets in the lower price segment”. With many young people in Frankfurt being eager to chant but priced out from the more expensive seats, expansion of the standing area is key both for a more vibrant atmosphere and expansion of the fanbase.
Currently Deutsche Bank Park has some 9,000 standing places, of which 7,435 are located in the lower north-west end (remainder in the away block). Demand is far greater and Eintracht is famous across Europe for the large fanbase of active fans. Once the upper north-west stand has seats removed and rows added, it will bring additional 12,909 standing places.
This in turn means Eintracht's standing terrace will reach 20,344 (covering all the space shown above), becoming the second largest worldwide, only behind Dortmund's Südtribüne (24,454). And Eintracht's representative did admit during last week's presentation that Borussia was somewhat of an inspiration for the changes. While in Frankfurt it would not possible to create a single-tier terrace without extremely costly demolitions, removal of skyboxes dividing the stand is an economically viable way to almost merge both tiers.

Is spurs one tier end any good for atmosphere? Has it made a difference ?
As you say. Nothing wrong with it. A great view of the match. But it’s too far from the pitch for me. As a fan you get used to where you sit or stand. I prefer to be closer to the pitch. On a personal level I feel more involved in the game from where I stand in SSL1.
TBH I don’t think it has from what I’ve heard whilst watching Spurs on the TV at home. I could be wrong. It’s good for the big games.
This probably won’t go down well, but I have to be honest. United’s singing section above the players tunnel in-between the main stand and the Stretford End has improved the atmosphere at OT. I Stand corrected on the numbers. I think there are 1200 singers there.

My nephew sits there. The club/fans have worked together to sort the demographics out, also offering cheap beer etc
As has been said, i think for the big games the etihad is well up there.
V real in the semi it was amazing. I defy any ground to be bouncing v fulham and similar clubs.
The world famous kop is flat as a witches tit for most games
Makes me cringe when fans a just trying too hard to replicate germans etc. we just arent that fan group .. we arent … well, german!

I've never understood why there's all the singing on the concourse, and then when the match starts or restarts bugger all in the stands, surely it'd be better in the stands during the game.
As always with any discussion about atmosphere/singing, most of the comments ignore the state of the game/jeopardy in it.
Saturday for instance, first half it went flat quickly because it was evident we were playing shite, and watching player on the pitch arguing with each other is hardly conducive.
We got a lead just on half time then fairly quickly took the game away from Fulham, and people were drifting away pretty much after the 4th goal, again not conducive.
Against Newcastle it was brilliant right up to the final whistle and beyond, bigger game, not put to bed, so high jeapordy.
TBH that's standard for the lesser teams and games. We do make excuses for the lack of atmosphere and singing, but when the team isn't playing well, which thankfully isn't often, and there's only a few hundred quiet away fans in SSL1, it does affect the atmosphere.
Saying that, I did hear 111 and 110 sing.... "He's gonna cry in a minute" to a Fulham fan, from where I was sat in SSL3 in the 1st half.
United and their fans have created it and organised it very well.

Totally agree, and a lot of the german "atmosphere" is utterly plastic, with song sheet's and drums, and coordinated clapping, it might sound good but most clubs do the same chants, and that's at every level of football.

Citys atmosphere , like most english prem clubs is dependant on the game, fast exciting full of action game = decent atmosphere.
Slow , pedestrian, dullish game and the atmosphere is mirrored
People would have you believe the kippax was bouncing everytime we played. It so wasnt .
Its just how it is and how it will be
