North Stand Construction Discussion

The thread has 14 thousand replies, and we’re well over a year away from the project being completed. So you can just imagine how many views the thread has had. Is there any way to find out that figure?

Colin told me the viewing figures for his CP Overview videos on YouTube have increased substantially during the build as more and more people get to know about the videos.

But you are right in the fact that a newly built stadium will always attract more viewers and click than a stadium and stand that is being expanded.

I took the post to be a dig at the club not doing more PR around it. Barca have a livestream of theirs too. But I can get why the club haven't. We will get a time lapse and some more from them closer to the time. And CP is giving us what we want in the meantime!

I was told there was at least 1 specific reason why the club hasn’t live streamed the build. I have to accept that valid reason. I’m sure there are other reasons as well.

But it is disappointing that the build wasn’t at least live streamed from a distance, and not close up to the construction site, like the Coop Live Arena was. From a distance you can still see the build without seeing what’s happening close up on the construction site.

There is a camera on top of the closest spiral on the East stand to the construction site. I don’t know if it’s a timelapse camera or a security camera? I posted a picture if it.

Therme have a live webcam on top of the Palazzo tower overlooking the Therme Manchester site. And a very neat and tidy remediation job they are doing with it atm.

Sorry meant to respond to this but slipped by.

See below level by level for ease, but as a summary it is an additional capacity for around 12,420 punters with access to various bars on different levels. Of which 500ish is the sky bar (true) hospitality and 300-600 is the GA+ on L1 of tier 2. Excluding the suite/bedroom level which is probably a capacity of circa 50.

Plus then the additional 'city square' covered area outside which has a capacity of 2800-3000 to gather.

The Ground Level (the bottom one in the set below) itself is also vastly expanded, onto the existing. If you follow the obvious curve, that's the existing everything beyond that is additional. Plus then the upper levels.

The hospitality element is about 8% of the overall bar/concourse offering including the GA+. Less than 5% as true hospitality on the top level. Similar propositions as the seats themselves in the stand.

Does anyone have any more info on who can access “City Hall”? The plan seems to suggest you can walk to/from EL1 (where I am) which would be good.

You probably remember? According to Danny Wilson, via Tim, the location of those GA+ seats on NSL2 seats hasn’t been decided yet. That’s what I think Tim posted on the thread after the OSC presentation. Tim will confirm if I’m right or if I’m wrong,

Yeah he said Danny W. had said the location was still open to debate. I don't particularly believe him (Danny rather than Tim) on that one, I think it is pretty set. I found the recent statement of capacity of the GA+ bar being 300 much more interesting fwiw.

So do I.

Where else are those GA+ seats going to go on NSL2 to attract City fans to pay more for them? Not the sides, not the back, not the middle, no close to the 3000 safe standing seats.
