These type of events at the Etihad are where the additional hotel stays bar match days and concerts at the Coop Live Arena are going to come from, especially with the new event and hospitality areas and offerings within the North stand redevelopment.

The Project Presentation by Sisk at the stadium provides a great insight and is well worth attending.

And still a third of that length to get bolted on to the end. Is it really just a bolted connection to take it to the end of the existing roof? Surely I'm missing something obvious there?

When walking in the last match we commented on how wide the area is, the renders make it look a lot narrower than the reality.

Cable supports from the towers to each beam.
Also, I would think there maybe more steel work to go up at each side,ie above the side panels.

Don't the new cables only go to the end of the new bits now up?

Not directly as far as I can tell. Both the planning documents and the Design Statement only show the cables going to those anchor points at the end of the newly erected beams. That said I think half of the roof beyond that point may be translucent panels which presumably are lightweight.
