North Stand Construction Discussion

Watched this before:

Everton's new stadium is amazing. Brilliant for their fans. Chalk and Cheese compared to Goodison.

I wonder if City have been to see what ideas they can knab for the North Stand?

He spent so long getting into the stadium that we didn’t learn very much. Far too full of himself to actually impart any real knowledge to us.

Reading reports, even with only 25000 yesterday it's a nightmare to get to and into, travel infrastructure sounds worse than Etihad
Yeah apparently it was bad getting there and not 'too' bad getting away.

I've always found Goodison Park pretty awkward to get to unless you're driving though.

I'm not confident about the Etihad after the extra capacity in the North Stand is added. If there's a concert on at the same time we're looking at ~80k people getting to a venue that has the infrastructure for around 45k (at a push). Going to be bedlam.

That’s the spirit! Keep positive!

There seems to be (at the moment) very little parking around the stadium. I posted a video earlier of a bloke going to that latest test event, and he walked from Lime St Station out to the stadium. That's a 3 mile trek. Twice as far as from the Empti Etihad back to Piccadilly station after a game.

Follow up report in Fail sounds like the leaving wasn't good either, main pedestrian route has a bridge that can't handle the numbers and weight.

It is closer to central Liverpool than the Etihad is to town. I think the reports are over the top. I know the area well and it is not perfect for transport but certainly no worse than Goodison or Anfield. I am sure it will settle down there. There are lots of pubs along Dale Street and in the Moorfields area and it's not far from there on foot. Lime Street Station is at the top of the city centre and Google says it is 2.2 miles from there but it's only 1.5 miles from Moorfields which is near the Pier Head.

It’s going to be great but the purity of the original stadium and its visual impact as you walked up from the gasworks was a thing of true beauty.
As city evolve so too our stadium but i miss that old view.View attachment 150862
They could display it on the two giant screens as you walk up to it, virtual memory reality.

Always thought both ends looked small and unimpressive to be honest, and although I agree the overall shape was nice, I thought the new South Stand looked far more imposing from the outside than the old one ever did.

I think the stadium would improve even more if they made the spirals indoor with a glass facade . Obviously this would have to be done when the North is complete.
It would also need new roof on East and West that would come further back than the turrets.
This would create a lot more indoor space between the spirals
