North Stand Construction Discussion

Another great video - thanks @ssskies. I reckon they will be itching to get on the pitch after the final whistle blows on Tuesday night (whilst KDB is still doing his lap of honour). If you can get down early morning on Wednesday 21st the old roof will probably already be being removed.
Thanks Alty_Blue I will be there at some point on the Wednesday just not sure if it will be first thing, or later that evening. Definitely get a look around and see what's happening. Cheers

Sprinkler tank room.
Impressive how far out they have it. And how gridded it is internally, for a plant/tank room!

Not that impressive how prominent a location it is in, with all that land around.

Presumably they have gone with a mist system, given where it is?

Sprinkler tank room.
I also wonder if the planners actually realise it is there btw. There is almost next to no detail on it, and in all the 98 documents and drawings, the only place i've seen that actually notes it is the landscape layout. And even then it gives no detail on what it is clad in, the height, what it looks like etc. Unless the planners have inserted a condition that requires further detail for it (can't be arsed reading back through all 57 of them), they could literally make it anything they want to. Not an insignificant little thing either, on many sites it might well be a contentious wee item.

Edit, couldnt resist, checked back through the conditions, nothing specifically covering the tank enclosure. You could argue it could be covered being part of the general materials condidion, but that has been discharged already without any mention of the tank room. They could as well clad that enclosure in marshmallows for all anyone would be able to know!

Forgive my lack of knowledge on hotels and sprinkler systems , but if it is connected to sprinklers why so far away from the hotel ???

Technology has advanced so far, that gone are the days a giant sprinker tank had to be on top of the building, and then all the structure that goes with that. They can have them a fair distance from buildings now, and on the ground pumped up to the top floor. In this case as high as 10 storeys. Mind you, this is probably the furthest I have seen yet, in terms of distance from the buildings.

What’s happening with this supposed wrong way round beam?? They either haven’t noticed, or it’s correct??

@ssskies Thanks for that today - there will be lots of changes coming over the next six weeks - hope you have scheduled in some regular visits to see the old roof coming off and the new roof being extended out.

If the hotel was open now, it would be full tonight.

100,000 people in and around the city centre tonight for the City v Bournemouth match, the Bruce Springsteen concert at the Coop Live Arena, and the Kyle Minogue concert at the AO arena.

Full tonight ? It will be full whenever City play at home, never mind coop live !
