North Stand Construction Discussion

According to BBC Weather, which isn’t always accurate, especially their long range forecasts, it’s looking good for drone flying and construction. :-)

I’m going to pop down this week and get some pictures.

Probably Sunday when the site is quiet.

I haven’t been down in a while.

I'm still trying to work out they're going to get those last safety nets down, there's no chance of a big cherry picker going on the pitch now.

I just read that Arsenal are planning to extend capacity by 10k and maybe use Wembley whilst the work takes place. The London bubble will burst one day. Meanwhile make sure you fill the Etihad with as many locals as possible and then there may be further expansions at some stage.

They still look good though

They’ll look ‘good’ (whatever that means) in isolation but they’ll be a clash between old and new when things are fully joined up.

What we’ll see when the stand is empty is the new section and the old section won’t quite blend into each other because it’ll be faded seats vs new seats, and this will create a ‘2 tiers effect’.

The extra 3 rows at the front of the CB stand are still in place and also stand out from the rest of the seats there.

It’s not a big deal but it’s something I’d personally want polishing off in terms of the finer details.

Example of the faded seats vs newer seats at the front of the CB Stand:

Give over, they are for sitting on. In normal circumstances only the ground staff will be seeing them. So why worry, on match days there will be bums on them seats. HOPEFULLY.
