North Stand expansion - seating, ticketing etc

Can depend on where you sit if it worth out

My season ticket is £480, if someone without a SC pays an extra £150 it is £33 a game

Is that a bad price??

It is a little unfair I would say but it was also unfair when i was watching shite everyweek and had a season card then, swings and roundabouts ;)
I get your point, but to be fair we haven’t really been shit since the 90s. Your talking nearly 30 years ago - I think it’s a bit unfair to compare really, as most younger people weren’t around then.

Everyone has a choice to make depending on their own circumstances

I tend to leave that to them and i will make my mine

We have been watching the best football played by city in its history. Its the cost of living and the mortgage scam perpetuated by the lenders then we would all have more money. You just need to look at how many bars and restaurants are going bump to know that we are closer to going into a depression than coming out of a recession, which has been going on for 16 years.

100% correct

So you think it's fair that someone who has just turned 18 only has the opportunity to buy a Flexigold membership, whereas me and you have a season card?

If they attend the same number of games as me and you, they would pay £150 more.

It's incredibly unfair and unnecessary.

City made something like an £80m profit last year....

Charging anyone who wants a seasoncard (especially younger fans who've never had an opportunity to buy them - as they were last offered in 2019) £150 more than us who were lucky enough to be born earlier is scandalous and unnecessary and will lead to a worse match-day experience for all of us in the long run.

Going into Manchester you’d think the opposite though, there’s bloody hundreds of them trouble is they are expensive now and I agree with you it’s unsustainable, £6-7 a pint, minimum £15 for any sort of decent food, I know prices have risen for suppliers etc and it gets passed on but there has to come a point when enough is enough, just look at how it’s nearly £10 for a pint in the coop arena, who thinks that should be the norm, it’s fucking scandalous, my local I can get a pint for £3.80 and it’s a decent pint not weak piss.

Just being a neutral here but why is having a different opinion to the 1894 group classed as 'negative hostility'?
I thought one of the purposes of a forum was for all opinions to be seen/heard?

I do my own singing, shouting etc. don't need, ask for anyone else's permission or wait for others. Just get on with it and make some noise.
Surely we go to the games to watch the football and cheer the lads on not watch the other fans?
Or am I too old fashioned? :-)

P.S. I keep reading about people with Bovril and blankets...... I've never seen anyone with a blanket and even if they have surely that's allowed? It can get quite cold in the stands. We don't have heated seats!!! :-)

As for Bovril, some people like Bovril. (I don't as it happens.) :-) :-)
'ere 'ere oyld lad !!

Blankets and Bovril my arse in parsley.....its full length puffer coats and a hip flask of Chateau Musar in ESL3.

Each to their own I suppose !!

.......Robbery.

Copper Dragon Golden Pippin £2.60p a pint at Thorncliffe Miners & Welfare Club.

Don’t know who’s funding it but go to any city centre including Manchester bars and restaurants are rammed, and it’s not just students, and rich kids all ages all backgrounds. How many hundreds of thousands are logging into Ticketmaster every time these big stadium gigs for over £100 go on sale.
A lot of bars and eating place are closing but new ones open just as fast.

Unfortunately the current plans the club have released will not encourage enough of the singers to relocate there. I hope I'm wrong, but it wouldn't convince me personally (or anyone I've spoken to in 115).

At worst it will create another pocket of singers singing something different again!

And at best?

If everyone thought like that, the club would run riot on the Disneyland experience they want Manchester City to be. They want to be every one of the worst bits of United/Liverpool/Barcelona/LA Lakers/Dallas Cowboys multiplied by ten.

They have never and will never understand English football fan culture, they don’t want to, they have no interest in it. They want us to be a tourist attraction for wankers and only aren’t already fully like that because we have enough fans who stick up for themselves and each other and would moan enough that the press would hammer the club.

If we don’t stick up four ourselves and each other, Manchester City will not be a place worth visiting for any true football fan.

Are they living on credit? My niece was renting a flat in Newton heath £800 a month, landlord wanted to sell so bumped it to £1200 just to get rid of them, she and her boyfriend moved back in with her mum and dad, that’s lasted about 8 months as they wanted to live in the city centre slinking at least £1000 a month on a flat, so they are paying £11k a year and will see fuck all for it, instead of buying further out I just can’t get my head round it. They want the lifestyle etc but it’s just dead money! To have a decent night in town I bet it’s best part of a £100 a night, ridiculous.

Don’t know the answer but cocktails have never been so common and popular and they go from£10 upwards a pop.

1894 in SS1add little to the atmosphere or good new atmospheric songs or chants.

Their default songs - "City's goin down with a billion in the bank" etc - are pathetic when we don't have a song or chant for Phil Foden or Kyle Walker.

An atmosphere/songs group is needed to spice things up, allowing 1894 to handle displays.
I’m 30 yrs old too old to be part of the core 1894 demographic so I have no particular skin in this game one way or the other but on my occasional visits to SS1 I’m surrounded by young lads singing pretty much non stop from a very broad songbook

Any noise is good noise so i think it’s a bit harsh for you to label some of the songs they sing as “pathetic”. Personally I don’t think the ten hag song about our irrelevant local rivals should be sung except on derby days but if it gets people making a noise in the ground then it’s serving a purpose
