North Stand expansion - seating, ticketing etc

They work for us. Too right we appraise them!

Those working at the club, and even those who own the shares of the club, at the moment are just short-term employees or shareholders of a club that exists for the history and culture of this city and its citizens.

In a generation’s time when all these people at City are only a distant memory, the stadium will still be in Manchester and frequented by the Manchester people and City fans from elsewhere.

What they need to do is provide a stadium that’s best for those people both now and in generations to come, and not for any kind of short-termism so they can hit their targets and get their bonuses each year.
100%....we fans are the only constant, and our future generations deserve a club, team and stadium that is a legacy to the current generation of owners and supporters.

Why would anyone connected with the club not want that.

That's not a fact though. See previous post, the process was open to anyone for months before the application went in.

Again not true, they were but a teeny tiny small part of it. It was also open to fans and groups, advertised to them, and a lot of the feedback documented is from them.

The plans were registered on 18th of April and were approved on the 24th of October. 6 months. That's not 'immediately' to me, but maybe all relative. It is pretty fast for this scale tbf, but bear in mind the club and the design team met with the planners every fortnight for about 6 months prior.

They did. I agree it is a shame you had the one there and they had lots and prior engagement, but looks like the club saw the members of 1894 as any other fans in that process, rather than a specific group to consult independently.

Yeah fair enough.

I agree, where things are and going forward the more direct engagement between you and the club the better.

But the implied secrecy thing, doesn't stack. It might seem insignificant, but it is a fine line sometimes and being factual without exaggeration and appearing reasonable sometimes goes a long way.

Out of interst have you guys written to the club privately, beyond the statements on facebook, on this?

Yes we mainly deal with the events team and access teams lower levels. We pass suggestions onto go higher but often get no reply.

We had contact with the higher end of the club for the first time in 4 years the day after villa at home as we were still not on acceditation following the arsenal protest.

Prior to that it was a last meeting teams meeting with club asking us to postpone david silva guard of honour. 2 years before that a meeting with kloss when they asked us to not go ahead with a certain display and 6 years before that danny wilson came to one of our fans forum.

Not gonna go into back and forth stuff here. We are happy with the statement and turning the focus onto prices and reintroduction of seasoncard. Statement has not been disputed at any point publicly or privately by anyone at the club.

Statement also went down very well with a huge majority of City fans who back out stance and have said so on various forms of social media. We will continue to work for our members and the wider fan base.

Real fan engagement sincere fan engagement has been a joke for years ar City.

Our “invite” came in April together with an NDA - that’s when they wanted to talk.

Implied secrecy - just look at this platform everyone has been asking WTF is going on for 2 years and taking their own pictures and trying to work stuff out because no information is forthcoming.

Yes maybe the club sees us as just another group of fans. A lot of the fan base doesn’t and has expectation levels which is why we gave the timeline. The club’s preference relationship wise is OSC CM then us. Our relationship can’t supersede those ones and we wouldn’t be told anything in advance of those bodies.

We went public with the fact we were asked to sign an NDA. Citymatters didn’t even though they were also asked. We’ve given a statement but tellingly no one from OSC or CM has so far said wow they’ve listened to the fans they’ve done all they can to guarantee the atmosphere. They had reps in the meetings too and saw at first hand what the club were prepared to listen to and what not to. Including pleas to survey more people. It’s possible more people were surveyed and over a longer period on the new badge than on this.

If club purposely didn’t want us involved from early on as our ideas would clash with theirs then maybe that’s a conclusion to draw. Vast majority of fans want us to carry on and whilst that’s the case we jolly well shall !

Hopefully the club do too but are just being pessimistic about how much interest the standing section would generate if they really pushed it.

Ok mate. Appreciate the response.

Well here is a golden opportunity for the 1894 to tell the main man what is happening with the North Stand
@Manchester33 @jrb

Tell him everything that is happening regarding the North Stand and the fight you having trying to get the club to do the right thing about having a proper home end with a proper atmosphere

Pep wants a better home atmosphere
