North Stand expansion - seating, ticketing etc

The club keep making terrible decisions (for fans) so it's perfectly acceptable for fans to call them out. Just in recent months they've:

- Increased SC prices again
I agree with you entirely, but sc prices in recent months ?
we had to renew in March this year for the current season, 8 months ago ,thats not recently.
They're so out of touch with the local fanbase.

what they gonna do for next season, renew by Feb 2025 for the 2025-26 season

The sooner the club gets the money into their bank account, the faster in makes interest and more money for the club.

10,000 fans who were regulars when Maine Road closed had stopped going to City five years later.....10,000 !!
10,000 are you sure? The final capacity at Maine Road was just under 35,000 IIRC and I'm fairly sure we averaged around 32,000 in our final season there.
Did we really only average 22,000 five years later? It may have dropped like a stone under Pearce but soon recovered when Sven came in.
Or are you saying 10,000 stopped going and we miraculously replaced them, and gained additional supporters as well?

Average crowds from last season at Maine Road until now:

10000 ÷ 5 = 2000 pa.

These were replaced and added to, but over that period 10000 Maine Rd season ticket holders didn't renew for what ever reason.

The OSC are working behind the scenes on behalf of 'their' members
Are they? Unless your directly involved you wouldn’t know it. City matters, 1894 and the food bank seem to be much more visible and more representative of our wider support.

Ofcourse people in the OSC will disagree with that, but that’s my perception. On the big issues you rarely hear anything and I sense a reluctance to challenge the club at times.

You don’t need to go through the media if you’ve got regular direct contact with City’s Directors / Senior Management. For example, Sir Kevin’s help with resolving the disabled parking charges shambles.

It’s no always the head honchos either. I saw a tweet on X responding to an OSC member saying we’ve listened to your concerns about the early date Champs League payments are being taken and they put back the collection date. No doubt other reps on City Matters Reps had an input.

Fair enough. It might be good to advertise or show some of these things to city fans in general. Most people dont see or hear about any of this. More visibility can’t hurt.

That’s part of why I think the 1894 group have become so influential. They publicly speak up for the fans a lot

Its a huge fuck up this season ticket situation.
Said it before about our owners, where as they have made my dreams come true i know im just a bi-product, deep down i know they dont give a fuck about me

I take my kids on my uncles season ticket (next to mine) as he lives in spain, if anything happens to his ticket then what? My plan was to buy one maybr 2 tickets and relocate, now thats not going to be an option do i just not take them?

True mate, for example, I know the OSC funded a lot of medical kit for people with disabilities in Ukraine.

I’m a member of both and hopefully having 2 groups with supporters interests at heart will help to persuade City to rectify or compromise where mistakes have been made.

FWIW, when I went to donate towards 1894 banners but the “are you a robot” test kicked me out. Maybe I made a schoolboy error lol.

Jesus.. Sir Kevin! I’m getting visions of the guy who was obsessed with Alan Partridge! Please do tell what he did to intervene here. The DSA thanked everyone who helped in their statement and the OSC weren’t mentioned. They were asked indirectly to mail secretaries about the fundraiser for the DSA. It never went out. Very dangerous to try and re-write history. Jumping on a bandwagon at the end and sending a mail saying “well done to all fan groups for helping the DSA” does not mean Sir Kev did anything of note on this occasion.

I was at the Exec Meeting when actions were agreed. Lobbying took place. It’s doesn’t mean the the DSA weren’t the leading lights in sorting the mess out. I think they would have been.

Is that OK for you. Remind me to ask your permission before I post again.

This is fair comment.

Whilst the OSC is a Members club, I feel that their cause/ activities would be immeasurably helped if they (for example) produced a quarterly update/bulletin for 'general' publication.

Knowing what they were involved and succeeding/failing with may encourage wider recognition and increased membership.

I believe they should publicly represent the interests of the whole of our fan base not just the members.

For enough mate you might be right.

FWiW communications used to be more open a few years back but there were a very small minority people who were accessing documents from meetings and coming on here and putting a negative twist on things.

I try to publish a summary of the OSC AGM on here each year but I know that probably won’t be the level of info you are looking for.

The last 2 documents I have seen from the OSC have been:
1.Updated bid forms for members / Branches to apply for charitable funding to help with charity work that member(s) of the Branch have an interest in. I’m not sure what other Branches have had approved in past years but I think Bob in our Branch had help with clinical equipment that he transported to a children’s hospital in Ukraine (I’m afraid I do t know all the details).

2. There has been update to some of the OSC Ruies. I think the main change that I have seen is stopping members living in the UK accessing tickets from overseas Branches and related requirements on overseas branches to have the vast majority of their membership in the designated Country.

I have not read the rules thoroughly so another change they might be in there is brining an ex player from the Players’ Association on to the Exec Committee in a non decision making capacity. I think David was going to be invited but I wasn’t at the last Exec Committee meeting so I’m not sure if that’s happened or not.

We’d be lost without Sir Kevin.

Anyway, we all want more affordable tickets and a better atmosphere in the ground.
‘Sir Kevin’?!…. Sold his soul for tickets for his mates. 1894 make the OSC look like amateurs.

I watched the Ian Cheeseman video and I was impressed with the contributions of Dante and Lucas and the City Matters guys made good points too. I wonder if the legal cases are holding up City sharing indicative prices. Hopefully, the Club will be confident enough to release the price info by early in the New Year.

Good points were made about the risk of social media posts and media statements giving a misleading position. I had got the wrong end of the stick about it feeling like 1894 were “marking the Club’s homework” when the approach being taken overall was constructive.

Hopefully, the parties can find a productive route through the current impasse. I think the Club could give ground on the 93:20 type 5 rows to restart better engagement. The sky platform
Is a bit of a red hearing as that shouldn’t have an affect on the atmosphere.

Read the replies.

Utter confusion, and different advice.

You can image the chaos that will ensue if the club doesn’t release season ticket information for the new North stand well in advance, so City fans can decided to relocate or not.
