Norwich (H) | Post-Match Thread

Really enjoyed today the win was great obviously but i'm so pleased for Gaby I don't know what it is about him but I really want him to have his chance and do well. Off topic a bit but we all moan when the club get things wrong but I have to say the commentary with Alistar Mann is brilliant the crowd sounded amazing and he is a breath of fresh air compared to the shite Sky/BT put you through.

I’m the same about Jesus, think it’s his work rate and always gives his all

Pretty decent crowd in the end. Many people away. Not the best opposition and of course Covid putting some off. Not bad at all.

indeed 51,400, would say Norwich brought about 1500, so about 50,000 blues, not bad for these COVID times with school hols etc
btw how fucking loud is the PA! I wish City would cut all the shit and let the atmosphere build naturally for thirty minutes leading up to the game.

Had a great day, did the stadium tour followed by tunnel club premier with the kids (their first match). Not been since the end of 2016/2017 season myself.

Great little debut from Palmer too!

Edit: The best bit was during the warm up, Pep was on the bench looking particularly grumpy/deep in thought and the security guard was telling the older step kid (7) to shout him, he wouldn’t, the younger one did though and he looked over unimpressed, his face lit up when he saw them waving and he gave them a big smile and a wave back.5D614565-19BC-4204-BF09-95E172F7A61C.jpeg

I wish someone would point out to those holding a microphone: YOU DON'T NEED TO SHOUT!

It was punchbag stuff today. Norwich offered nothing, had no gameplan and will be going down again. I hate the busparkers as much as anyone, but if you're Norwich up against City, there's no point in trying to play your game as you will get whipped. They'd be better off sitting back with 6 in the box as at least they'd have lasted more than a few minutes!

Great performance though and great to see Grealish getting on the score sheet. It will do him a world of good. He looks like he's been at the club for a couple of years already. I think Aarons is a decent full back but you could see him dreading it every time Grealish got the ball. Once Pep coaches this lad, I can see him becoming a legend at City.

MOTM was genuinely a tricky one for me - Gundogan and Silva were immense but Jesus set up 3 goals (I think) and his all-round game was top class. He deserved it.

I don't think we can read too much into this game, we absolutely bossed them and I don't remember anything other than a couple of half chances.

On to Arsenal next. I don't rate them one bit and honestly, Arteta will be gone by Christmas. They've wasted a huge chunk of money on players who they didn't need. They needed a bullying, hard defender and a bullying midfielder and, again, they've bought badly. I can see us giving them a good beating next week as well.

Let’s hope so.

Good win but Norwich are pretty awful… not sure why they persisted with trying to play it out from the back - they will struggle to stay up - no cutting edge at all.

He doesn’t whinge like most and just tries his best to do what is asked of him. Pep frequently refers to this.
i think part of the issue is how Pep plays him and it doesn’t necessarily suit his game. Torres got his hatric, v Newcastle i think, when him and Gabby swapped positions. He’s good out there, but Mahrez is Plan A for that position.

I think that Pep is trying to get minutes in all their legs, as much as he can, at the moment.

So great to be back inside the stadium and a commanding performance.

Played with a lot more purpose and looked much fitter. A lot of good individual performances, just what we needed.
