Duffle coats, anyone !!
Yes, mine had the compass in as did the shoes in the picture..from memory I had Tuf shoes..Tough shoes for tough little boys !!Mine had a compass in, which was a bit ironic as every time you got lost, not that I ever did in the wilds of Ashton on Mersey, you had to take your shoe off, hop around on one foot and if you could actually see the bloody thing, it never worked.
I remember getting my first leather football..were they not called Casey's ?, moved to Leeds when 10 yrs old so do not know if it is a Yorkshire term ?? It had the lace where the bladder went in..However, before that.in the late 60s there was this iconic plastic ball, it was orange, and kept on puncturing it on my mother's rose bushes..used Bostik to seal the damage which worked short term !!! Will be impressed if anyone can remember that or has a picture. It came in a box and had it on my bed every night. The smell of a new leather football on Christamas morning, not every year but just now & again, a proper leather Caser, me & my brother would be out all day playing football,
Jumpers for goal posts mmmmmmmmmmmmm ist it?
Yes ,it was that one, well done !!!
Did you never heat a knife up and seal it that way ?I remember getting my first leather football..were they not called Casey's ?, moved to Leeds when 10 yrs old so do not know if it is a Yorkshire term ?? We used to call a leather football with a bladder a Caser, funny when the leather got worn out the bladder used to start coming out of the hole like some sort of weird growth, I remember those orange plastic ones used to sting a bit if you got it in you face on a cold winter day, my brother got quite good at fixing those with my dads soldering iron!I remember getting my first leather football..were they not called Casey's ?, moved to Leeds when 10 yrs old so do not know if it is a Yorkshire term ??
