Not coming in the Top 4 - it's ok!!

What makes it worse is that it will be the rags who take our place.

If you had made a bet that next years Champions league places are Leicster, Spurs, Arsenal, Man U and Liverpool you would be a very rich man.

I guess people will say we get what we deserve for booing the Champions league anthem, the worst things about qualification for Europa League will be Sunday Monday matches and the inability to bring in out top targets.

The aforementioned clubs will have first pic effective and City and Chelsea will be fighting over the scraps.

The only positive I can see is blooding more kids

First of all let me say "I'm gutted about our performances and our champion league spot", however any player that picks Leicester City or any of the above you mentioned over a Pep and City are short sighted and without a brain cell and I'd be happy to lose such player.....I wouldn't want a player like that around our club.

What might happen is certain players will stay at their current clubs for another season.

At this moment we have enough to probably win the league as it stands under a decent coach like Pep, so there's no need to spend big if we do eventually miss out. Plus I'm a firm believer in team work and an expensive player doesn't always give you that.

Keep the faith and just suck it in because thing are about to get 100 times better.

I think you'll find it's not okay...certainly not for the players.

A lot of them took huge pay cuts on their basic, on premise of top four participation.

All that Champions League money we made this season would have to be stockpiled for the shortfall next season.

And if you think attendances have been selectively ropey this season, wait until every game we have is 4pm on a Sunday.
Bang on the money .

I often wonder when you can go out on a days shopping trip and randomly buy a cheshire home and a Ferrari outright without batting an eye lid whether a pay cut would really affect you?

It's the mental state I'd like to think would be affected, a sense of failure and determination to get it right. A bit of pride.

I personally have no feelings for their cash loss at all, I doubt we'll se them at the local food bank anytime soon.

If Tolmie is right, and he usually is, we have to hope that some players we do not want to lose will not ship out in order to get CL elsewhere.

By the sounds of it the financial hit would be significant and effect plans for the next couple of years at exactly the wrong time when we have finally got Pep on a short term stay if it really is only 3 years. And when a major refresh of the team is necessary.

Pep is not going to want to blood a team of second choices hoping we can upgrade again next year. That is like going through puberty twice in a year.

Given all of this have you any clue, Tolmie, why on Earth those running this club let it get to this point. Were they really oblivious to what was pretty clear to most people on here months ago - that we were skiing downhill with a sheer drop approaching.

How could we have basically tossed off a vital game at Southampton where even a point would have left yesterdays result a good one instead of a possible catastrophe.

I am struggling to understand any reason other than blind belief in their invulnerability why nothing was done to stop this slow motion car crash unfolding.

This all day. Pellegrini essentially sacraficed this match for Champions. It completely has come back to bite.

Chances of the likes of Aguero, De Bruyne and the like asking for a transfer if we can't offer Top 4?

Never mind targets for recruitment. . .

Season has been a disaster.

Yep we have been very poor, The Refs will make sure the rags get in the top 4 now.
