Nottingham Forest (A) | Post Match Thread

True, their scorer came down our right hand side.
But it’s not helping us it . Playing b silva at left in our biggest game if the season is fucking criminal and tbh I’m amazed we are actually still in the title race . We are not going on any runs this season and it’s gonna go down to who bottles it most . Like to see Ortega given a few premier league games tbh .

Not sure I have ever said I wanted him to leave?? Very odd. Check the match thread today. Nearly everyone saw what was coming. Bringing Ake on night have given us the win. Bringing them on in the 88th minute was strange.
Other than that we handled them well enough and it was our lack of putting the ball into the back of the net was the most glaring one. Slight mental tiredness from Wednesday didn't help our cause either. Arsenal will have problems juggling Europa League on top of a title challenge.

This season has some twists and turns to go and whilst Arsenal are back in pole position they also look vulnerable.

This inability to take all our chances is nothing new, we hoped Haaland would be the answer to that but he isn't always - others need to step up and take chances as well.

On the whole Foden played well, he was lively and dangerous but that chance he seemed to get caught in two minds Navas perhaps spooked him by standing still and forcing him to make a decision - Foden didn't and it went.

On any other day Rodri or Laporte score their headers. And the double chance for Haaland - that is the moment he is there for - but sometimes that is what happens. The strangest situation with Haaland was when he went down having got behind the defence - there was a touch on his shoulder but surely not enough to push him over, but he doesn't choose to go down in that situation. Perhaps he was already off balance and there was enough of a push to take him down - but on second viewing I can see why nothing was given

The big worry is that Pep does not trust the rest of the squad. Philips was brought in to play those games - but Rodri is being overplayed. He says the right things about Alverez - but it was crying out for his poaching ability. And the left back position continues to be a concern Ake was brought on too late.

Shot you say?

What I was trying to say was this: we all laughed at Man Utd when Ronaldo went back and initially scored plenty of goals, but it was because the midfield/the wingbacks were trying to pass to him and set him up all the time. The end result United as a team scored less goals over the season and finished in like 6th.

I hope we don't fall into the same trap with Haaland. I don't think so, he is not a prima dona like CR37.

My interpretation of that incident today: well Phil has alledgedly been on the 'naughty step' recently, he was in on goal but sensed Haaland was available and he tried to pass it when really in past seasons he'd have just smacked it in himself.
