Video of the game is now on the website, including the sending off. Rodri was apparently red carded for grabbing Gibbs-White by the throat, but if you watch the footage it's clear that Foden actually made that contact, not Rodri. The rest was handbags and GW should be embarassed when he watches it back. So the sending off was ridiculous PLUS how can the VAR not see that when he watches it back ??11

If this is true then we should appeal it and should win the appeal

Interesting, great spot. Looks like one arm up from Phil and not Rodders

It was a crazy chain of events.

- Rodri makes a stupid movement with his hands
- Foden pokes Gibbs in the throat
- Gibbs goes down on Foden touching him
- Ref interprets it as Rodri throttling Gibbs
- Ref gives a red to Rodri
- VAR doesn't overturn it because they had a couple of stills of Rodri putting pressure on Gibbs' throat with his right hand

If Ref doesn't give a red then VAR would not have called it either.

However, this could have been avoided by Rodri not reacting.....

Look at the first 2 goals, absolutely champagne football, then when the going gets tough down to 10 men we just shut the whole game down. Eddie didn’t make a save until stoppage time, he was so well protected, but then he made 2 excellent ones when called on.

I don’t think any PL team has ever had both skill and grit to the level this side has, and with half a dozen key players injured too.
 
The whole Gibbs-White and Foden thing is odd also because they are best mates. GibbsWhite is godfather to young Ronnie. All round cluster fuck of a situation, I dont think I've ever seen Rodri that angry.

I was in the east stand block 106 and it was a superb atmosphere getting behind the lads , especially after the sending off it galvanised the whole stadium , there appears much more togertherness with the players clapping the fans at the final whistle appreciating the support.
Our stadium is becoming a fortress and our support is becoming a big part of this but, i know we attract a lot of tommy tourists at the champs league games , which is the main reason i dont go to them.

Yes but like many other people like myself who grew up in Wythenshawe we are massive Altrincham fans!!! His father and brother being rag season ticket holders is wholly incidental!!

Gets round it by claiming to support Altrincham and being affiliated to The Cheshire FA.
 
City Fans we’re Great today… lost my voice shouting and chanting again…
Taylor has no clue and isn’t fit to referee… why is he refereeing Manchester matches? Pogmol need to look into this… they won’t… this is why we need an independent body for football… with only City supporting this… Hope Forest get relegated… awful cheaty players…
Best thing City did today was the defending and changing play in second half… true team spirit…
