I must be the only one who fancied turning Utd over in the final that would have just completed their misery this season.

I'd give us more of a chance of winning the final against the rags than against sunderland so yeah I definitely preferred we played the sewer scum
I dunno. I've had this nagging feeling for ages that they were going to beat us in the final. It would have been their entire season in one game, Van Persie, Rooney and Vidic would have been back. Not sure if Mata is cup-tied like Jo was? I was a bit gutted to not draw them in the Semis because over 2 legs, luck plays little to no part. But in a one-off game, anything could happen. When we were shit, we still managed some handsome scores against them with Vassell, Macken and co. I just had a bad feeling about playing them. So i for one am happy. Sunderland are our bogey team, yes. But we're not playing them at the Stadium of Light. Most of their players have never been to Wembley before. Whereas it has been our players' 2nd home in recent years. So i am confident we'll play well and win.

I am confident if we play a full strength 11. Our form is just so good at the minute that we could beat anyone. Have to give them the respect they deserve though. They have knocked out both Chelsea and united to get to the final and have lost once in 10 matches becoming very hard to beat.
I dont think it will be a walkover but we should have enough. My prediction is 3-1.

Is it only me that thinks 31000 is a low for the league cup, I thought each team got 35000, the hangers on would get 20k that's enough Shirley.

We have learnt a lot of lessons since the Wigan defeat should be a good game rip rags ha ha
The players owe us one as well. To a man they were a disgrace to this club and us fans last May at Wembley!

Gonna be a great final..well done Sunderland, youve brought a smile to my face this morning.

And so say all of us Sam!

I think playing them is going to produce a brilliant day out for both teams and supporters. Lets hope we can finally end the Sunderland curse. They will be up for it, but I have no doubt we will be as well.

I am sure every player has felt the pain of the FA cup final, and they will never want to experience that feeling ever again. So lets hope for a day of redemption, and a great day out.

I'm pretty sure League Cup finals are the same as semis: the fop and bottom tiers are spilt in two to give each club 32-33,000. That leaves Club Wembley and that central lower tier block for corporates.

Just to stop my mild panic...

Do you think ill be alright for a ticket, just under 4000 points and ST holder but not in the league cup scheme?

I reckon ill be OK but i could do with some reasurrance!

I think all seasoncard holders whether or not on the cup scheme will if they want be able to get a ticket. Don't forget Club Wembley tickets are available as well

Seconded- I was devastated, and believe me I had seen some crap for thirty- odd years like the rest of us.

£115 to sit in an expensive built stadium and get soaked.

I'll eat not only my own hat but somebody else's if you don't get one on those points.

Would have preferred united, purely for ease of a win. Bit of a bogey team, Sunderland. That said though we have enough to make the trophy ours.
5 Weeks Sunday. Best book the Monday off to rest what will most definitely be an aching head.

Only at their place but they will give us a game

Our recent record against Sunderland and the memory of our FA Cup final defeat by Wigan should at least remove the possibility of any complacency

I'm old enough to remember the FA cup final of 1973 when Leeds Utd were red hot favourites to smash Sunderland who were in the old Second Division. Sunderland had knocked us out in an earlier round but even Big Mal thought they would be crushed.Sunderland played out of their skins and won 1-0. That game will be used to inspire the Sunderland team this time round so they will be well fired up!! I totally agree no room for complacency!!!
We need that first trophy to set us up for an unforgettable season !!!

CTID

Sunderland will pack the midfield area, try and get us to play out wide and then hit us on the break where they can.

Got a feeling that will play right into our hands though as navas will be an almost certain starter and with Zab supporting and Kolorov on the other side we will be dangerous from the wings.

So will I. All season ticket holders will get one, without a doubt.

Now I can stay at home.

I wouldn't have been able to resist going to see a City v United final.

I'll pass my ticket on to a relative who couldn't get a ticket for the recent finals and the 2011 semi.

At least we will be at Wembley with a set of fans that actually appreciates to be there.
Would be nice to sing some banter vs the United-fans, either Manchester or Newcastle. Just to set the atmosphere going before kick-off and for both United-fans to listen to in front of their telly.
