Is he really that good? Never struck me as anything special at Stoke and Blackburn. Think we might be getting giddy because we're linked, has the potential to be another Bony/Delph scenario this IMO.

Shame Delph's home grown status means he's got a guaranteed squad place at least until Roberts gets back in the summer. Not that I don't like him but it would simplify things not having to register a player who so rarely plays. Although it's unlikely to have a serious negative impact this season because we probably aren't looking at signing many players.

Because he is English he isn't blocking any players unless they too are English. So it can't have a negative impact unless there is an English player ready to step in.

Even if the referee was Madrid's best player, Nzonzi was average against Madrid yesterday, he was much better against Barcelona/Juventus/Athletico.

Nasri was by far their best player, didn't look out of place against Kroos and Modric

Surprised by his comments, because we're clearly not that well covered in central midfield. Gundogan is out for the season, Delph is perennially injured, Fernandinho is perennially suspended, and Toure is unable to play every game.

I recall him saying recently that he wanted to give Aleix Garcia "more minutes", so maybe he's decided to take a chance on him rather than buying another midfielder. Still think we're short in that department though.
