Obscure City players - anyone remember any of these?

Fascinating stuff chaps, David Shawcross is another not very well known but he had real class. Sadly a goalkeeper's dive finished his top flight career.
He later turned out for Stockport County and is remembered as never having missed a penalty for them. Lives in Hazel Grove and was also a fantastic bowls and snooker player.

I have a cutting from about 1970 which says he took 51 penalties and only missed one. The reason he scored, he claimed, is because he used to play in nets at times for City's A team and so imagined being the 'keeper who was about to face a Shawcross penalty to work out which way to dive; he'd then do the opposite (or something like that, I'm paraphrasing).

The article calls him the Penalty King and reported on a challenge between him, when he was captain of Droylsden, and United's Alex Stepney. They took 5 penalties each against the other player and Shawcross won 3-2 after saving a couple of Stepney's attempts.

As for his City career, he damaged his ligaments (Cruciate?) and that seriously limited his opportunities and caused him to move down the divisions. He had represented England U21 and U23 with City before the injury.

Flying visit then knew he never played that many times

Nicky Limber played left-back in a friendly at Barrow in the 90s(?). Signed from Doncaster but never made an iota of a mark and disappeared into the ether. There was also a Quigley in the team, again at Barrow in 1982, and another youngster who I completely forget. Ended up 2-2 and I'm sure Tueart scored but time has obliterated some requisite memory cells. Any other info on the 2 games would be appreciated.
