If we play 4-4-2 we'll get ripped apart and Barry will run the show. Petrov is terrible in a 4-4-2 and we always get overrun.

We have to play 4-5-1, and O'Neill has to forget his issues with NRC and play him.

If we play 4-4-2 = 1-3
If we play 4-5-1 = 2-2

hopefully yous play 4-4-2 and we will rip you to pieces:)

Is carew fit?

if he plays he will cause all sorts of problems in the air against us.....id bet on him scoring everytime a cross goes into the box

Yeah Carew is fit, but he's been poor the past few games and if we play 4-5-1 which is what all of our fans want he will be the one left out and we'll play Gabby up on his own.

Tough choices here for Hughes - even more difficult when Onouha, Vinny and Robinho are in the mix
- All in all shows how good (strength in depth) we are looking this season - great problem to have
Best squad in the leauge some might say - Liam?

I believe Ireland is available and feel sorry for Zab and Petrov to miss out but we have to consider the pace of Villa up front and the threat of Carew (if starts) and Villa in the air.
With manu back we will be able to defend this at set pieces - I'd like to see us leave SWP, Tevez and Bels forward against corners

Think Dunne will find it difficult against the pace and direct attacking play that we have the ability to use (unforunately i think I might get caught out for pace at the back and take it down to ten men!!

Another thing that works well is the flexibility which allows the players to get good width without getting exposed - pace and power on both flanks with SWP, Barry

................Given..................
Richards...Toure...Lescott...Bridge....
................NDJ....................
........SWP.............Barry..........
..........Tevez......Bellamy...........
..............Adebayor.................

Taylor
Sylvinho
Zabaleta
Johnson
Ireland
Petrov
Cruz

So strong that I haven't got Weiss on the bench

Would love to see Lescott get off the mark!
Comeback goal for Ade ( he must be raring to go)
Barry - just to keep the run going against former clubs

I'm going for 3v0 City - optimistic!!??

With my wife and in-laws all being from the land of Brum, and Villa fans to boot....i really am hoping that Barry gets a hat-trick....slides on his knees in front of the Holt End......and we win the game 5 nil.

Wishful thinking granted!!!

2-1 City

Really hope Barry has a good game, maybe a goal..

He deserves to silence the fans of a team where he spent 11 years of service, how can they boo a captain who gave 11 years and finally wanted a change, a challenge to the top 4 and a higher wage, shocking some "fans" are.

During that 11 years he was good for about 3-4 seasons, the rest of the time he was very average but we still supported him fully. During that time he handed in a transfer request despite him being crap at the time, and was on the verge of leaving for Portsmouth until O'Neill came. In fact it was O'Neill who made him what he is when he came, he helped his form and he became an England regular, he then repaid him and us by saying he wanted to leave again. We refused to sell him and then he cried like a little girl because he didn't get his own way, then he went to the press slagging O'Neill off and badmouthing us despite still being a Villa player. He stayed even though he didn't really want to be here, then as last season drew to an end he started to think hang on i'm not going to be here next season and started to play really half arsed, all of our fans wanted him dropped but O'Neill kept playing him. Then after his ultimatum of 'If we finish 4th i'll stay, if we don't i'll leave' and 'I'll only leave for Champions League football' he left for you. Then came the pathetic letter to Villa fans.

Yes he was here 11 years but he wouldn't have been if it was down to him, and we owe him f*ck all, we helped paid his wages and supported him throughout all of those years so f*ck him.
