Official - City end interest in Eto'o [merged]

Re: Samuel Eto'o [merged]

The scums finance deal is about to come to an end and they have still not secured a new deal which is likely to be at a much greater interest rate. Their interest repayments are still swallowing up all of their operating profit and even with the latest funds raised it will be drip fed to them rather than in on bulk payment. Basically the scum are screwed if they don't qualify for the CLeague and will still not spend vast ammounts of money this summer minus one transfer to replace the tranny.

2 years ago someone might have bought them for that, but with the recession and the fact two of the richest people in the world already own premiership clubs it would leave 2 or 3 people capable of doing it. IMO nobody would pay over 800 million for the scum now which would still leave the glazers 150 million short on their outstanding debt. So the Scum for now are almost unsellable IMO.

And so says The Financial Times.

In which case its probably true as the FT are not idiots with football bias like myself.

Re: Samuel Eto'o [merged]

If I was a player and my decision was based on the manager alone,

Moyes and Hughes there would be no contest, Moyes every day of the week.

Re: Samuel Eto'o [merged]

Don't get me wrong i will be as pleased as anyone if we sign Eto'o, but weren't they trying to offload him last summer (i think i remember about £9m being reported) with a few other players? Why was that was it because he had a bad season or had he fallen out with the manager?

I am hols in Kos at moment and it hit home how much the Robinho signing has spread our name as i was having breakfast a foreign bloke asked me what team my shirt was (last seasons 3rd kit) i told him and he turned and told his son and said Robinho, his son instantly understood, it turns out they were Dutch and support Ajax, he went on to moan about how crap they were at the moment which in a strange way brought me great delight of how times have changed recently.

If these transfers come off it will be unbelievable, especially with the young world wide generation knowing and looking out for our club (not that i want glory supporters or hangers on).

Re: Samuel Eto'o [merged]

If these signings come off, I can't see how City will be stopped. Not in the long run. What a band wagon it would start. The world will be our oyster.
