Official - City end interest in Eto'o [merged]

If these signings come off, I can't see how City will be stopped. Not in the long run. What a band wagon it would start. The world will be our oyster.

Will us traditional City fans be able to take sustained success?

Would we get bored?

I think the main thing that keeps us interested as a City fan is the unpredictability, one season we are unstoppable the next we are in a relegation dogfight. I can't remember a season that hasn't had some sort of cliffhanger. If we run away with the league after 30 games it will be boring but nice to have an open top bus.

I agree ........ next season will be the start and top 4 will be a realistic target and after that move on to being contenders

I think most of us could live with the pain of it.

Give me 5 years of success and then I will answer your question. After all I have suffered 27 years of hope!!

Re: Samuel Eto'o [merged]

Let's please see how long it would take to get bored first. I for one have had over thirty years of unpredictability so would quite like a few years of dull winning all the time.

I have no doubt, I am more thinking along the lines of if it would feel like there is something a miss.

I personally am not looking forward to picking up "sing when we're winning" fans. I don't want to have those fans that live a million miles away and claim to be fans but really know fuck all about the club. We have laughed at the rags for years about it, won't it be a bit hypocritical when we get those fans?

When I tell people that I support City, I don't wan't to be labled a glory hunter and the cliche of saying I was there when we were shit.

No, scum could not afford him. Have you not all been reading the papers, there is a credit crunch! And it is beginning to bite with some clubs. Liverpool and scum cannot afford £200,000 per week for anyone. Scum have released their most sale-able asset, do you really think for football reasons? This is a new world order where the one's with the money are City. The others have reputations and glory but not a pot to piss in compared to us. Eto's supposed wages are approximately £10 million a year. Before they sold tranny scum's transfer budget was reported at £20 mill, they can't afford him.
read the papers or not ,,utd could afford his wages if they wanted too.

?????? well scum fans do not think so - the club do not thnk so - no one else thinks so - so why do you????

Because they have just lost two of the clubs highest earners who collectivley would have eanrt more than Eto'o did.

Also they are set to recieve 80M.

I am not looking for a row - but CITY will pay Etoo more in the 1st year that Tranny will earn at M - that is far far far away and beyond the scum's salary levels - they are not even in the game!!!

THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO CHANCE WHATSOEVER THAT THEY WOULD EVEN BOTHER TALKING TO HIM - AND MORE IMPORTANTLY - HE WOULD NOT BE BOTHERED TO TALK TO THEM!!

There is a big big difference between being able to pay the transfer fee and being able to afford the contract when a TOP player is in their final year
