I wouldn't get to worried about an Ajax fan calling us out about our spending. They've been buying about everything left, right and centre in the Dutch league (Sulejmani, Suarez, Gabri, Bakircioglu,Oleger, Sno could go on for hours. The funny thing is they've achieved jack shit over the years.

Can't be arsed to read through 311 pages so apologies if a similar view has already been posted.
Basically his agent comes out and says he is staying...OK I'll buy that, so why a press conference tomorrow? Makes no sense to confirm the leak from today? I think not, this is an opportunity for a windfall payment respectfully known as a "transfer bonus". Eto'o is a greedy chap, however if he has a bonus clause in his contract then Barca should honour it. It's clear they want him off the books and no doubt concerned that in one year they wont get a cent, therefore I still believe the 15 mil Mr Greedy wants will probably be paid...Can't see any other club bidding for him so I am intrigued how tomorrows press conference will go....either way there is enough time to re-visit this should our other targets not come to fruition.
Could also see Barca and ourselves splitting this payment!

Calm down.
I strongly believe that all that is going on as a game of brinksmanship along with a large dose of face saving on Barca's part. If you honestly think that a loyalty bonus and the players (or agents ) views on that could possibly have been overlooked then you really must think that ours and Barca's negotiating teams are a bunch of wazocks. I would suggest that this matter would have been the second or third on any agenda and though the sum involved could be really astronomical (to qoute on club president) a way around this (which probably included us contributing at least some of it( probably a large proprtion of it to be honest. As the Catalans have a reputation of being tighter than a fish's anus) would have been found very early on.
So as I said chill, sit back and be fairly confident that what is about to unfold before your eyes in the next couple of days is a media cicus and really is only window dressing.

i just dont think we are in a strong enough position to negotiate this deal.....Eto'o holds all the aces and barca have nothing to lose really....they could either stick him on the bench for aseason and ok, he will go on a free but in that time he could earn them 25m just from winning games and getting them to cup finals etc
Im sorry to say but i believe by this time tomorrow it will be all over....the press conference is to confirm what we all know....that eto'o will stay at Barca........I just hope the club gets an anouncement in first before all the media hysteria kicks in.
I just hope we have other options up our sleave........RSC and Tevez are good buys but we will still require the out and out forward.......id go for fabiano personally...he is the next best one (that we can realistically get........no way will we get benzema as he is just waiting for utd or madrid to come along and David Villa certainly wont come to the prem and has made it clear that he wants to stay in spain)
